wow, the animation is really smooth...so how many frames did you used?
this might be a problem when coding though, since it will be really slow with all the frames(even with all wait:0), and getting even slower when the attack lands a hit(hit lag)
back from the dead.....kinda

That's where frames will be dropped in favour of speed. Just like Davis' D>A - it skips frames from the sheet too.

i would suggest trying to animate this sequence(4 frames only):
3-5-6-1
1 frame start up, punch, fist still sticking out, then pull back
back from the dead.....kinda

The char looks AWESOME! hope you will have the motivation to finish it.
I got no suggestions, your sprites are awesome, remind me frozen sprites of siegever.
and I like the idea of more frames for more swift animation, but it makes the spriting of the base sprites much more harder, so think about it.

looks nice, but the attack range seems too short.
maybe you can make it a little more like Julian's or make him move his leg to step forward
back from the dead.....kinda

Yeah looks not very good, he should work much more with legs, move forward, and the punches can have more distance, it doesn't look strong now.
