I'll just use this post to submit my own tips for the program. I'll probably share the link to this specific page with him.

- At first try, when clicking a tool, have a small textbox pop-up that gives the most important functions of that specific tool. For example: if you click 'square selection', a textbox shows up that tells you 'press A to add, S to substract and T to move your selection'...
- When you create a new document, automatically fill in the size of your current selection at start-up.

Many improvements have been made to Krita, especially to importing and exporting .psd files and using layer styles.

It's not 100% done yet (thus they don't recommend using .psd as the working format in Krita), but you can definately work with this file type now! So we can now make stuff in photoshop and use the awesome Krita brushes and stuff in the same file ^_^

I am really looking forward to the day that this program is fully compatible with .psd files, having the same (and more if possible) layer styles and filters! Will test the new version right now. :D

I'll let you know when that day is there, it will not be long from now probably!

I haven't tested the update yet, would be great if you could share your thoughts :)

Well, it seems to have almost all the layer styles that Photoshop has, but when I opened a .psd file with 6 layers, it only showed to me 1 single layer (all 6 layers merged). :/
