Correct me if I am wrong PF, but I am pretty sure he worked quite hard on creating his own custom base to work off of. Not to mention he is an excellent sketcher who seems to be able to draw quite good proportions. Even with a great mind for proportions, your first few sprites will most likely be 'stinkers'.

Littlebob, it is very unwise to hope to get better in something if you do not know what you are truly aiming for in the first place. You are aiming for better proportions with your sprites. But as of right now, all you are doing is aimlessly repeating your same mistakes. I fall back to suggesting you to either using a base until you have the proportions down perfectly there. Then go in to making your own base.

With my new 'Ragelex' sprite, I made the idiotic mistake of spriting it from scratch with no base whatsoever. It took me about an extra hour or two to fix up the proportions so the sprite actually looked somewhat decent and another hour or so to perfect everything.

I want to try something with your next sprite, whatever it may be. I want you to write a little write-up, a paragraph or so, perhaps less. Heck it could even be some quick notes, on what you want to address with the sprite. What are you goals with this sprite. Here is an example:

[ ] proportions
[ ] color scheme works well
[ ] etc...

While spriting aimlessly might be fun, if you want to truly achieve a high quality sprite. I think you need to think more about the concept of the sprite and what you need to address. Good luck with all this. But remember the most important part of spriting, please. Have fun with it.

well i wish u'd improve than bothering me through pm....
ur sprites are constantly smaller which would make it a whole lot harder to make it look proportional with no room to spare and force in...
well i guess this one is slightly better than the other one...i think?
face needs to be worked on though, u still use the same mouth concept which is bothering me most of the time...
the eyes apear to be cross-eyed and far apart, i think thts due to the shading and maybe even tht hat? er-whatever tht is on his head :P
u still need to work on it to astound us...alot of pages with pretty much almost the same concepts and boring style...
sorry i got bored - i think u work either too fast or too much for one thing alone (look back @ ur work and notice the flaws)
constantly look back @ other people's work to get a sence of freshness...
srry thts all i can come up with @ the moment...

I like the pants, the body looks like bat.

Try not to add some much accessories. That makes the sprite look wierd look at the LF2 sprites they don't have to many accessories that's what makes them look weasome.

And try zooming on LF2 character faces. And look at positions of the eyes, mouth and nose.

And maybe the ears too (Referring to this sprite)
