Select the background layer and take the gradient tool and fill it out [This is how to do it in PS]
And Btw nice face pic but try to make the hair a bit correct as they look odd to me and the hands are not correctly made...
But nice try for a newbie

What If I had not made the background layer from the start?
What hands?There are not any hands in the face picture.
