I have a bit of a plan for the character pages that I'd like to run by everyone. There shall be a brief Stats table near the top, just detailed enough to let the reader tell if this is a fast character, a high-damaging character, or just a boring average character. I'm operating under the assumption that the level of comprehensivity we're going for means that we want to talk about each individual frame of every attack (including weapon attacks) of the character. That means forward, backward, and upward range (plus thickness if the attack has non-default thickness). A concise way of describing every single frame is via an animation such as this prototype:
(I'll make sure Dennis actually stays put, splice in a standing frame so you know when the start of the animation is, and maybe write the damage inside the boxes.) Thus every attack shall have one of these, except I guess for weapon throwing, for which we can just say how far it gets thrown. Sound good?
P.S. What are the units of the parameters at the top of the .dat files of characters, ilke rowing_distance 5.000000? Surely not pixels per frame :/
EDIT: On second thought, the exact numbers are important too. Instead of an animation, let's have a series of still shots, each with detailed information. Because numbers on their own are hard to interpret, but pictures on their own aren't precise enough.
EDIT: Judging by the activity in the wiki and the lack of activity in this thread, the direction of the wiki is under my control, which is fine by me ^^ Perhaps some day I'll finish enough that people will visit not just to edit.
EDIT: On second thought, screw it. Talking about every single frame is way too much information, too hard to draw conslusions from that.
