What I find interesting - if you can call it that, talking about super powers, hah - is how Gaara's protection, which is based on sand, would conflict with Crocodile's powers, he is actually the sand itself.

If someone actulally wants to win against gaara, he should use water-oil to make his sand heavier and unusable. And this is something Crocodile can't do.
And don't forget to add all ninjutsu techniques like kawarimi(changing your position with another object), bunshin(clonning), fuuin(sealing). And also walking on walls, water and other stuff.

In there loses against Deidara which can create ridiculous explosions. But because he lost much chakra when he protected all village from an "unradioactive nuclear bomb".
Gaara, the master of sand, can not be match against a that kind of opponent like Crocodile.
