weapon related dc questions

i think there has been a thread for this already, but i cannot seem to find it.
is it possible to catch a (original) light or heavy weapon in mid-air?

also, apart from the regular weapon attacking frames, would it be possible for a char to detect if he wears a light weapon?

this may be very obvious, but i didnt dc for a long time so i probably forgot a lot
