I'd simply stay being a player then. Can't help much on the AI as long as no progress seen... you know how to do it.
Or maybe a small tip on it: Plan all characters will be used in the future stages (if not yet) now, and their ID, armor and some other EXE stuff. This would seemingly make the preparation process long as ever, but it would be even annoying to edit every time a "new idea" for characters is popped.
Did you play Towerr defense games? The Ice Column thing is just like that, it auto summons Firzen balls.
