May I ask why would two spriters pair up to do a char? (Theirs styles need to be very very seemed, or one of the two needs to do effects and the other the rest...).
That design makes me think about a wind character, not a full element bender. (Anyways I don' get why ice and water are different elements, or why wood and lighting are there, I know in some RPGs they use them but, meh, to me is just water, fire, earth, and wind...).
So I suggest to make him a wind char, and not exploit that character design.
Also, in the breathing animation, the shoulders should stay in the same position, and the rest of the arms should rotate a little.
But nice to hear about a new project with original sprites =o
