First one looks pretty interesting, but the special thing about it is mainly in the middle and bottom. Means that the upper part isn't that interesting. But if you delete it, it would probably look so... restricted. I don't know how to say it. It would lose the impression of the wide sky a bit. So well, the upper part is bothering me a bit, but I don't know how to make it better.

Yeah, I've two versions of this, one with the top third and one without. The one without just isn't giving the desired amount of epicness Or, to say it in other ways, if you clutter up a picture with only details, it gets pretty "heavy" in terms of layout. Too many details can destroy the entire image, that's why I left some quasi-blank space on both top and bottom

33 hours in Photoshop + 50 hours rendering, to be precise.
Hmm, I don't quite get the perspective-deal, he's supposed to face the fire & moon and I think he does exactly that...
