some of the new features that have been planned are
Automatic name updates
Streaming capabilities (allows others to watch a live game without impacting those playing the game)
Chatrooms (available to those in lobby and a private one for those in a game still working on the mechanics with this one)
Auto-Recovery mode (used to resume a game if someone gets disconnected, may only be enabled for tournament games for now)
Anti-Crash support (allows those in a game to continue playing if someone drops out e.g. 3 player game and someone wants to leave the game won't end)
for Auto-Recovery and Anti-Crash i'm thinking along the lines of when someone disconnects the game will freeze for everyone and the creator (or next available player) will be given an option to wait for the player to reconnect so the game may resume or drop the player so the server will change the number of players and allow the remaining players to continue playing and force the missing player to just walk right until i can come up with a better solution
As for engine enhancements
I'll be improving the communication layer for both server and client and eliminate the need for mswinsck.ocx will also provide crc32 and better support for larger packets which should eliminate most if not all the issues users have experienced with communicating to the server
In my original design it was set so each member could have their own custom avatar/display picture available whenever they join a game (would appear in the lobby next to there name) with the communication layer this idea becomes possible...the visual aspect of the lobby would use a rework not to mention the site but thats for a later date
