Why? I'd say this is one of the few good threads in this section .


I avoid doing anything tedious, that way I never get demotivated. Works like a charm, because if you do nothing you can't really get demotivated .

And personally, on a more on-topic note: I can't be bothered with anything else but ripped sprites or just using pre-existing ones, and I only occasionally add a move or so to something instead of actually sitting infront of my project all day long trying to get on with it.

well, the best kind of motivation is to tell the others that you want to finish your char/ bg/ story/ whatever.
I am often thinking that I have to finish my char/... then, but I also know that many people aren't finishing their projects. So I also don't have to work on it if I just got tired of it.
For my first char it was also a good motivation to tell myself that I will be able to play LF2 with something made completely by myself. I don't play it that often, but still sometimes with my char.
When I first came into this forum, I somhow thought that many people weren't listening to what I was saying.( That isn#t against our nice community. It was probably imagination.) There the reputation helped me a bit I didn't care about whether I had 1 or 10, but sentences like "nice member, almost every post something interesting to read - we definitely need more members like him" were a pretty good motivation.
Then I lost a bit my motivation after nobody commented my finished char. But know I have my story and I don't care that anymore and still want to make a new char
In conclusion: Integrate the other members in your projects, think of how cool it would be to finish your project and remember the feedback you maybe got before.
So don't know anything else to write... Hope this thread was intended to stay alive.
