Today is not the perfect time for 3d, this technology still has to improve. A lot.
In that case, playing games in "real" 3d with a terrible headache wouldn't be fun D:

There ought to be a button to switch between 3D mode and normal. That would be way better.

There ARE some limits for portable consoles :D
But the 3d mode would be used for some time only D:

But then there would be a 3D mode. Sometimes you just wouldn't feel like playing in 3D, so the mode could be toggled on/off in case you don't want that headache inducing 3D effect. And it does make sense-it still retains the 3D.

Including such a powerful technology in a small "box"...It'd have to decrease its power a little.

watch that video, it creates a pseudo 3D effect which apears by tilting the ds
thought it's pretty simple and I'm recreating that effect for a livewallpaper for android phones on which I'm currently working on

Sony: probably in PSP only.
Microsoft: WTF? No portable consoles. I don't expect it in X360 :)
