You are probably including a library for the networking and I guess that one either doesn't feature ipv6 or only uses 4 unless you state otherwise.
Either way I am currently stuck with v6 (translation from/to 4 is handled by my isp) and thus cannot do any forwarding on that end - but I don't need to whenever I can directly use v6.
