Bamboori: Alright, little guy. It's time to give us some apls. We don't have small change though, so I guess we're going to buy as many apls as we can with one gold coin.
???: Apls good! For one gold coin. You get more apls! Yes!
Blue Phoenix takes out his money pouch and fishes out a single gold coin.
Blue Phoenix: Alright, but these apls better be worth it...
He doesn't manage to finish the sentence, as he suddenly embraces a whole bowl of apples into his face. At the same time, the pouch in his hand is snatched and the apl trader tries to escape.
Bamboori: Hey! Hold it!
Bamboori dives headlong after the thief, but suddenly one of the sacks appears in front of his feet and he clumsily falls over it. As some of the others start to give chase, a few more shady looking people emerge from the sacks thought to be filled with apls and block their way, waving around their weapons threateningly. Immediately thereafter they proceed to run away as well, and after an initial moment of surprise the group tries to follow them. The thieves however regroup shortly and then split up in three different directions; two of them keep following the road, two of them head rather left where the amount of trees become more dense and two of them to their right, an open grassy field. It is unclear which one of them has Blue Phoenix's pouch.

how many aplz do we have to make up for it?
im still against splitting up. better have 1/3rd chance of getting our gold back (how much did we have anyway?) than getting our bums beaten sperately.
which group should we follow?

Obviously we should follow the left group into an obvious forest ambush
But seriously, the grassy plains seems like the safest option.

told you we should just kill that guy
but yeah, splitting up sounds like the best option. I just can't think of a good configuration of the groups that we could split into

Just found out that we can use all the skills even if we didn't put a skillpoint into it yet.
Seems like we can't agree on what to do. Bamboori wants us to focus on one guy, Simon wants us to split up. I change my mind:
I think we should split since we more or less can split into 3 groups nicely, with A being the riskiest:
Group A - Forest:
Steiner row 1
Simon row 2
Bamboori row 2
Nave row 3
This area is most likely ambush, so having characters who are flexible with formations is helpful. I can leap to the other end of the row, Simon & Bamboori have movement x2, Nave heals.
Group B - Road ahead:
BluePhoenix row 1
Drahcir row 2
Ian row 3
I assume people are going to be lined up in a nice row. BP is upfront since its best for him to hit hard and then run back as necessary, while Drahcir in row 2 can lay on hands plus possibility of being surrounded makes Drahcir in row 2 more flexible at protecting Ian.
Group C - Grassy Plains:
Phil row 1
Snor row 2
SirFrog row 3
This seems like the safest place, so the rest go here.

well fine, but isn't group 3 a little risky?

i agree with stm, and if it gets too risky we can always run away and search for the other group (as we would probably know the direction they went)

The group instinctively splits up into three parts, each following another pair of thieves.
Steiner, Simon, Bamboori and Nave run after the thieves that escaped to the left of the road, eventually heading into a forest. It may be very well likely that an ambush is planned for them over there. Bamboori and Simon, both very fast runners, slowly catch up and eventually manage to throw themselves onto the thieves, shortly before they reach the forest. All four of them drop to the ground, and the thieves initially put up some resistance, but as Steiner and Nave join the cuddling party, the thieves are overpowered and knocked unconscious. As Simon rifles through the bodies for Blue Phoenix's money pouch, some calls are suddenly heard, and Bamboori spots a few more individuals, partially armed with bows, slowly emerging from the forest's coppices, not so very far from them.
Bamboori: Guys, there! More of them!
---
Blue Phoenix, Drahcir and Ian stay on the road, chasing after the thieves that followed it as well. However, soon they notice that the thieves may be just a little too fast for them; they don't seem to be coming closer at all. Is it worth it to chase them down or better to return to the others?
---
Phil, snorsorbet and SirFrog follow the thieves that headed into the grassy field. The snorbet cat appears to transform into a flash of purple lightning, dashing through the grass with ease and reaching the first of the thieves pretty soon. He claws onto his legs and tries to bite through his pants. The thief stumbles a little, then tries to shake Phil off. The other thief notices and quickly returns, trying to stab the cat with his dagger, but Phil quickly lets go of the leg. This little distraction however was enough to let snorsorbet and SirFrog catch up. When the thieves realize that there are only two perpetrators (beside the cat), they draw their weapons and take on battle formation.
A Battle Commences!
Next Turns:
Phil
