Well, its 2015 and things are getting more and more HD, I know that lf2 sprites are extraordinary but if they had more resolution thats gonna be more than extraordinary ...

I agree. HQ sprites are much better, but still, they need not to be like HF style.

I don't agree they should be like HF sprites. WHy ? because let's face it.
What do we like to do the most with lf2 game? Changing and making are own chars, bacgrounds,... If sprites are HF HQ, very smooth and complex, HARD to change, lf3 will lose only fun part lf2 had outside gameplay and that's "editing the game". There is no person who didn't dream about making his own lf2 char, we can't take away that.

I don't see problem with 2-3 color shading sprite combined with HQ something like Mono's sprites.
There is a reason why Hero fighter is not as popular as lf2 and it will never be and that's its inability to edit the game.

So i don't see reason why something like this [Image: fl7Eijw.png] wouldn't be enough for LF3.
Style can be changed, also we can make bigger sprites, make whole game generally bigger, but simplicity should stay INTACT. Everything opposite will be failure as HF is.

What we really should look to improve are gameplay and mods. Maybe rpg mode, i don't know. Coders, it's your job to make new engine and new modes for lf3.

Talking about gameplay. I liked how one game for GBA called "Gekido advance" had this thing where you walking, you can interact with the civil npc. Also bgm changes when enemy appears.

Go to to 1:30 if you want the gameplay and skip the intro

tyt2y3 is doing a great job in making mobile compatible LF2 clone called F.LF, but he is not trying to make a brand new game or LF3, main goal is to have an open source LF2 that people can mod easily. A-Engine and Neora are both very promising, they're trying to carry DCing to a new level.

Show me what you've got :P
My response to this:
Ultimate Little Fighter
Don't expect to play it, it's just a template for possible development, but this file contains some nice DC ideas...
Ultimately, my constant dissatisfaction with the way things are becomes the driving force behind everything I do.

I have this dream, that Marti gets permission from LFO ppl to add Little Fighters to Hero Fighter's roster.

Not necessarily. A "crossover" would do.

First who said that HF is failure ? HF got his fans too you know ... anyway, if there's gonna be a LF3 it'll need to be more moddable than LF2 .

I just checked out Project F (F.LF), and that's exactly how I was imagining it. We should contact tyt2y3 and find a possibility to help the project. Maybe Kickstarter?

HMn, was thinking. Some kind of UFO tech owns Lf2, right? How to deal with copyrights?
I see people ain't thinking about the mod but about the whole new thing.
Changing names? Appearance?

Hero fighter supposed to be evolution, new generation, better game than lf2, but it ain't so i am free enough to call it failure.

More moddable? what else do you want? You have already option to change .exe, sprites, DC, AI... only thing you may ask is to remove limitations in terms of quantity of characters you can put into game and in terms of frames capacity in .dat file. Other than that you can do whatever you want with game.

Perhapse new engine, new gameplay, will lead to even more editable stuffs.
