Well this was supposed to be a teamwork thingy, but I like the idea of a 'sprite tournament', too.

yes, tournament sounds like an excelent idea, drawing 2 pieces of paper will be totaly random so no one will complain that its a war between expirienced only...

Let's set a date. Everyone who wants to participate - vote in the poll until 20th of May. In the meantime, you can suggest spriting themes, which too will be drawn by luck, for the competition. Though I sense that there will be a lot of wins by default, because of mysteriously empty entries, or maybe that's just the homunculus cynic talking in my brain. But let's hope for the best.

As for the themes, it’s actually pretty hard to come up with something original. My suggestions don’t sway away too much from what was already seen in the sprites sub-forum.

Anthropomorphism,
or simply animal’s (head, tail, etc.) and man’s (two legged, two handed, etc.) fusion. Examples include a minotaur, a Medusa, etc.

Bikini,
because I think that nude (one of the most popular Art themes) is frowned upon here. Simply, a naked man’s or woman’s figure, of course, covered with something, from bikini to grass, to etc.

Angels and Demons.
Pretty explanatory in itself, unlike the book. You can draw inspiration from the Bible, because that’s what started the fad.

Historical heroes,
as in real-life counter-parts of real historical figures. Cleopatra, Napoleon, etc.

Self-portrait,
or you as a little fighter. Some have done it before, even made full characters, so I think this should be interesting.

Humor,
a funny pose, ridiculous body or face, everything what you would consider comedical in one sprite.

Six themes should suffice, unless you have complaints and declare a better one.

The preparations are being made. I still need to root out all the inactive participants, replace them with new ones, get some nice descriptions of themes and some examples for them, and so on and on. In the meantime, you can familiarize yourself with the tournament chart. Also, I drew some sketchy promotional art. Also also... Glad to see that betit joined, as did BP. Also also also... Does anyone know if Gad is coming back? I'll probably have to cross him out. One way or the other, all hell will break loose on May the 21st.

Also is you guys have noticed Sheldeee is not more online since 7.3.2011
