C'mon Sieg! You know! The gloves are off, get it?
Although yeah, the boxing gloves would be pretty awesome on that one too.

August 17th you say? In the unlike case of me finding some time to get bored, I'm seriously considering to enter...
Just a small question: is it how you see another member condensed into a sprite or how do I have to see this?

So, this is the best I could do to give Apoc some competition, in my typical simplified style.
I rmb marshall once did a rep character by blackening and modifying Firzen, and I always thought the concept had more potential than that.
So here's my attempt, though still far from what I'd hope from this design. I need to make him seem even more inhuman, instead of simply being a simple black skinned demon... oh well. I did have some interesting results from some experimentation, I'll probably be able to do something even more interesting the next time I revisit this idea.

| Thanks (and amazing sprite too)! As Reaper mentioned already, I have a scythe as well because I lost an arm (full character setting/story is too long to explain here). And the symbol on my forehead is missing too :P Sorry if I'm asking too much. |

1) DO NOT PM ME
2) Go read up on anatomy and proportions online. (google is your best friend)
3) Go read up on pencil sketching-shading.
4) Practice by making FULL character sheets. (Refer to bases and references if you have to, occasionally try doing things from scratch. You have to mix both methods; bases and without.)
5) DO NOT be an arrogant, self-righteous prick when people try to give useful critiques, and ignore the ones who are flaming idiots. (Flaming them back makes you one of them.)
6) Repeat steps 2 to 5 until you're happy, or you think you're good, then start sharing your knowledge with your fellow spriters.
7) Showcase your sprites. At first, do not be discouraged when you don't get any critiques, or lousy/generic critiques. Continue practicing and showcasing your work. With more sprites, it will be clearer what your strengths and weaknesses are, and people may be better able to give you better critique.
Lastly, if you think saying all this makes me an arrogant, self-righteous prick who is too selfish to share his knowledge...
Then I say you cannot recognise wisdom when I've just slapped you in the face with it. (Also, those steps are the same steps I used to get to where I am, I don't know any way else to truly learn.)
Unless you think its worth my time, go F*** yourselves. I'm not going to bother to even reply to PMs like "can you help me make this character?" anymore.

^That looks great, but I'm missing the red crescent he has as or instead of a hand (the right hand). It was one of those things that made the character unique amongst other dark, mysterious sprites. Also it would work nice as some kind of eyecatcher.

Updated entry, included a hand scythe and the forehead tattoo.
BTW, I always felt like he looked like a shape-shifter?
you took my breath away
shape-shifter? yes and no. Yes because he's a parasite, no because he is Marshall, yes and no because the two have been combined ~ Marshall

I don't know about the claw, the shape is a bit off :P
I think making it more spiral-ish would solve the problem, as the claw is very bent at a point.
I <3 back seat driving :DDD
I did this to you for obvious reasons. You have just wasted a lot of time. Congratulations.
Still with the same joke? ;D - Simoneon

revised scythe. toned down aura.
you know... I still can't imagine how a scythe could be grafted onto an arm without the grafting being clumsy and the user constantly poking himself by mistake. Unless he's a shapeshifter. lol. If I were ever to create him as a full character... at least the scythe would be able to shapeshift, if not the whole character. But that's just a bad tease now, since its unlikely I'll ever do it. Or at least not in the foreseeable future.
