Sorry for a bit of a revive, but i need to update my thread :P

So here are 2 of the latest sprites i've made, simply with the recent sprite theme in mind.


I tried to make Blue phoenix, though im not sure if its blue phoenix enough :P


And here, i tried making a human representative of Phil.

They're pretty darn stylized, but i guess you get the picture (literally, and figuratively)

Most of my other recent sprites can be found in the Sprite theme contest.

Pretty awesome, man. Although, you could have done more with the face, they look too bland to me (as in expression).

EDIT: They look pretty squeezed together and out of balance.

didn't quite turn out the way I envisioned it (actually.. quite freaking way off.), but i thought I'd share it here. Its supposed to be another idea I had for the representative character contest, as alectric, but since it came out somewhat weird I went with Marshal's character instead.

You're getting really good at this... really like the sprite.
You've more or less gotten shading and colours and details down pat already. Though, you really should get working on your proportions and poses, as they're the main drawback on your sprites right now.
For example, in this particular sprite, the legs are way too short, your torso alone is as long as the legs already.
Most of the time the legs should be almost as long as the head and torso together. A good guide for this is to rmb that the navel is usually the the halfway point between the top of the head and the toes. (that puts the crotch just slightly below the halfway point, and the legs share the halfway point with the hips.)

As for poses, well.. I'm not sure. I'm also working on them for myself. I guess all you could do is look at more art and try out more poses?
