Username changing has been disabled for all members at it lead to confusion of who is who.

Custom user-titles are only to be changed upon request (that is: send a PM to a mod/admin with a valid reason why you would like to have it changed) or if you belong to a certain user group. These are: Advanced DCer, VIP Member, Moderator, Global Moderator, Administrator. The reason behind it was that it lead to massive abuse back in the day (ie., people called themselves "Admins", "Moderators", etc. without actually belonging to such.).

Wait a minute, then how did siri change his username? Or is it the same thing-you have to PM an admin? Wasn't too clear there, because Phil said before you could change your username if you talked to an admin.

I talked to bp about changing my status, gave him a valid reason, and nothing happened. To keep on-topic, you need a valid reason to tell the mods/admins why to change your status. The reason you need a reason to change your status because you will annoy the mods/admins if you keep asking them to change your status EVERY FRIGGIN MINUTE.

To all of you: BP is right.
And to all of you wishing to change displayname: no.
It's for the same reason as you can't change usertitle. If all members suddenly start changing names all the time, nobody would be able to figure out who's who. Believe me, that function cased a lot of confusion on the old forums.
