you should create your sprites layered then
one on top of the other
makes it easy to get the animation right without ever testing or really animating it

People had years to get to where they are now. Sieg is eight, Apoc is around 3 to 4, hellfighter is around 3. If you noticed the trend, the younger ones like pf, Betit and DH took considerably less time. They are talented w/o a doubt and they certainly have practised a lot, but we need to factor in two more reasons:
1) they started off older, so their ability to grasp shapes and space should be higher than a 11 year old
2) they have a proper community to look up to and learn from. Sieg only had Ricky as a reference. By the time Apoc and hellfighter rolled in, there was Sieg, FX and Matt there already to guide them and provide an environment that motivates them to get better. Hence by the time when pf, Alec, Betit and DH are properly trying to get in the game, I would say they've got quite a lot of help.
Note that I did not mention some others because they have not done anything complete / complete enough :P

Though that might be true before, no one cares to look into others thread to provide help. Example, see my thread, Sieg has not even posted :P (Am not blaming You XD). Yeah, I agree to this notion

But now, it lacks some support to the beginners. I agree with Eddie.

But why should Seigvar even care?
We have got enough of the spriting community who helps us in every sprite we make, they tell us the flaws and good things,In my opinion we are fine.

Well, i didn't mean that it is a draw back that sieg didn't post , Chase. I said that the situation has changed for what Marshall has told.
And, Betit , Its pretty silly calling me a noob. U don't have an evidence for that. And, if u are angry with me u both Betit and Alec, am sorry for that.

But that aside; finally, there is some quality discussion going on :P
Marshall surely has a valid point with the community that's being able to guide newcomers on their way which the senior did not have. But community is certainly not everything. As an example, you can take Trickity. He came out of nowhere and is being awesome (I'd really like to know how you acquired your spriting skills, Trickity).
But the age is not really a valid point in that matter. Betit, for instance, just turned 14, iirc, for which he does some pretty advanced work. Few people actually join at such young ages (which reminds me that kids under 13 actually have to ask their parents if they can create an account. lol), so we cannot talk about it representatively.
Not to mention that I don't know a whole lot of guys who freely acknowledge irl that they like to sprite in their free time. Or painting, in general. PC games, sports, anything like that. But I think that's getting off the point.
It certainly is a positive thing that we now have some active spriters again. Considering that we haven't had, excluding a few, proper projects the past couple years (fully customized things).
