Jerk's spriting attempts
#1
so, it's time for me to finally share the few of my sprites i've(not so often) done. I've not done this before because my sprites were all blurry and because i didn't really work on em (resulting in me producing very few sprites).
they are currently divided into two: sprites before and after my (Now former, very sh**** and obsolete) computer crashed.

Just saying 'you make good sprites' won't get him anywhere in spriting, you should also suggest the bad parts about them.

I'll begin:
1st sprite:
Looks good, but the shirt and pants need to look less blurry.

2nd sprite:
I like that hair,he looks a bit stiff, everything else is well done though.

3rd sprite:
I like this one,the pose is quite good, but I can't quite understand what is on his face though.

4th sprite:
Well you tried experimenting at a larger size this time, and this looks quite good.

Well, the face looks fine. His head shape is fine to me. And in my turbo version i can't see the eyes clearly. ( nvm that )
. When u are wearing something, the inner part gets exaggerated. In that sense, u should make some exaggeration in the ear part. Make his face cover more space (doesn't really matters ). I find the shading "cool" . Other than that keep spriting ^^.

added 2 new sprites, and a link to my sprites on photobucket (in case you can't read thru all my descriptions and stuff).
Now there is one little question:
How do you make faces?

@v: general one.

As a specific 'you' or a general 'you'?

i made this tutorial a little while ago:
http://www.lf-empire.de/forum/showthread.php?tid=5122

I still do most of that, except now i draw the faces at 4x that, as trickity suggested in his tutorials :D

Just choose a 1-2px brush and draw the outlines, colour it in a layer underneath, and then shade with at least 4 shades (prerably 2 light shades, and 2 dark), and add a gradient background at the end.
Use the eraser if the outlines get wobbly or rough. (just my method, under no account am i saying you have to adopt this method. Unique styles are always cool)

I like the military monk double knife, looks awesome.

BTW, the red shirted guy shading looks like a gradient kinda, each arm should have its own light to dark and same with the body part.. Hope that makes sense lol
