Very well then. Prepare for a long post as I try to decide for whom to vote. I can tell already that it will be a tough decision for me.
koori-youkai: Nice work on the coat and the hands. Background is looking fine as well, I like how the reaper is illuminated by a red glow. Scythe and head were the parts I didn't like as much. The texture of the scythe is more stone than metal-like. If you wanted to go for that, then I still thinks the shape could need some work.
Wiro: Very nice, it has a certain feel of nostalgia to it. The reaper looks fine and the style of those old games is well-captured. What I'm missing is some sort of witty statement that would give your entry the special something.
klodasmone: I have to say, I'm not really a fan of your style, particularly not of that muscle shading with scribbly black lines. Additionally, shading seems to be partly off, for example on the lower part of his upper body. Just from the look of it and without background information, it rather screams coffee than death, which I don't find too hilarious even considering his facial expression. Maybe it's because I don't know Metalocalypse, but that's probably true for the majority of this forum.
Phil + BP: An interesting concept with colours working nicely together, 'expressive' you may call it. And - as usual for anything where BP is involved - it radiates death, doom and destruction. The thing on the right side - probably an arm? :P - looks slightly misplaced to me, though.
Jed37: It's simple, but it works. It has the right feel to it and made me smile. Not much to say here.
oliveryungo: Certainly an interesting entry. The dragon heads are great and the addition of purple adds a lot to the impact. The lower part appears to be a little too random for me, though. Would have been great if it felt more as a whole and flew together nicely.
empirefantasy: Nice and unusual colouring, but the scythe is extremely small and reaper could need a reshaping. Additionally, shading is barely there.
DesignHeaven: Really nice one. Creeper is looking good and works well with the background. Texture could have been more pronounced, but that's personal preference. However, in it's current form, the creeper doesn't appear to be scary/dangerous at all and thus doesn't really scream out death. Maybe I'm not playing enough Minecraft yet.
vandelsca: Interesting concept, well executed. Not much shading, but that's fine. Nevertheless, somehow the impact on me isn't as big as with some of the other pieces.
Whaat and mundvoll_: You two are kind of competing for my vote. Both of you have made original renditions of the reaper and did a very good job at execution. In the end I decided to vote for mundvoll_, because his design put him that one step in front.
My highly subjective votes go to: Phil + BP, Jed37, oliveryungo and mundvoll_.
Anyway, well done everybody.
