Well, I feel kinda angry actually... In my opinion using flute all the time is very cheap and lame. But just as you say, I can only express it by breaking a record with that cheap way to show that it is cheap and lame.....................

It's more the fact I don't see why players want to ban Henry (or rather, Henry-Players) from breaking records in survival.

Don't come with that "lame"-excuse again. It's not lame, it's a playing style.

@Ramond: Okay. Just that if Henry playing cheap like that is counted as a record, I will never participate in any contests or posting records anymore - as I already know no matter how great I have played everyone using Henry and playing cheaply can beat the record very easily..

I am really disappointed. If this continues, well, in my opinion, LF2 becomes a very lame game. Bah, anyway Tetris is better. Isn't that right, Nullbyte? xD . Well I know he's not gonna read this though .

For example, 4 players record? All use Henry, when everyone gets about 1/4 hp everyone takes turn to flute and the opponent can't do anything until their death. Well, if that is allowed, what's the point of trying any other characters, which will be much more difficult?


Come on, there's no point in this thread anymore if cheap playing like that is allowed. Before, the records were all of cool replays with cool fights, some with awesome dodging maneuvers and others with great attack timing or combo etc. , just now all these records will be replaced with very boring replays of Henry running away and playing his flute. For 4 players there will also be a 4-men flute show, but that's not cool. Even I am sure I can beat Noir or Nullbyte's record (solo difficult) by playing Henry cheaply, and the record will be lame compared to their cool records.

Okay, since this is going nowhere, I suggest a compromise: Dr.Death should add a category everywhere with "Random Characters with Henry". Plus, for future fighting contests, certain moves for certain characters should be limited per stage. Sound good?

Because quite frankly, I don't find it fair that Henry's completely banned from beating records. It's just as fun to play with him as with other chars.
I don't care about holding the 28 record either.

Also, a few more notes:
1) It doesn't concern us if people decide not to participate in contests, it should just be fun, not about winning.
2) "If this continues..." If what continues? Me using Henry? Because of your unwritten rule enforcement about Henry, hardly anybody dares to play with him anymore anyway. Where's the lameness in that?
3) This is actually not an official thread, Dr.Death voluntarily puts up the best runs for each category. I don't think anybody watches the full replays anyway, so this isn't really the place for cool fights, awesome dodging maneuvers and combos. If they do happen sometime, why not just take the time and record this bit and upload it (or them) as a video collection?
4) You shouldn't only look at the world records. Beating your personal records should be your main goal.

Pls don't get angry at me but as you both understood anything can make the game lame until marti and starsky continue to improve lf2 -which is never gonna happen.

For example think of 4 johns.
They all are creating shields overtime and they are undestructable against ai...

But instead of fighting about it, you should give advices to whom organising it and want new rules from him.

kevin you are overreacting. I watched the ramond's record, yes he used often sonata of death... and so what?

I definitely is a great player. And there is nothing lame with playing henry.
Sonata of death is a move with a lot of weaknesses, difficult to use (unlike davis' dragonpunch which can be used successfully each time).
Henry isn't a melee character, it's normal he can use large scale moves in order to balance him.

There is nothing cheap or lame here, because LF2 is a lame game (yeah, it's a funny game but seriously look at what we can play with nowadays).

Please don't take those world records too seriously, we are here to have fun and share some good time around a game we like.

Stop overreacting or grew up or stop caffeine, I don't know!!! But please don't act like a sore looser.

And as my personal opinion henry is not lame at all... I enjoy play with his flute and it is too weak if there is only one henry against many chars... For example dennis sends a chaseball and all move crashes down...
So come on everybody, keep on posting your new records and enjoying the game...

My Suggestion now to all. I don't think that i should open a new category for Henry becuase the problem here is about this playstyle. As soon as you play henry it doesn't mean that you make Stages with like only the flute. We already had one time this discussion about the solo record crazy from Noir and Nullbyte beating it with Freeze. This got solved by noir beating Freeze and Nullbyte using Woody then, cause with Woody it's harder than with Freeze if Freeze uses all of his abilities.

But back to the actual problem. I will add in such conflict records the option of 2 recordings, because the old record was the first with 20 and with an playstyle that many players would accept it as the true Worl Record because it was more effort behind it. But i added the 28 record because just for the number it is also a record.

I can't ban lameness out of my record topic because else it couldn't be official. It would be more like the videos i would accept as records. Then the collection of records would be under my control, i could like nearly randomly say: Oh this guy used 2 Flutes in Stag 40 or this guy cloned 5 times in the first ten Stages so his recording doesn't count but the other guy only cloned 4 times even if these clones were much more effective it will be a record then. That's kinda too complicated and all this.

I will only add this double record if there is a problem like this. i won't add 2 players crazy 20 of me and Kevin, or BP and Azriel from the #15tournament bec the playstyle of the first record was accepted from all and so it gets under the other rule of the first one to reach a Stage and beating the same enemies(connected to Stage not at all).

If anyone still has problems with that, pls write it.

well, @AKA_Mathieu, sonata has a very slight weakness, that is the delay before the damage appears, but the very large hit box will cover that weakness and overpower the move. I'm certain that it's overpowered since yesterday I play and reached stage 22 in 1 try (but then it's already too late in the night so i quit the game. i'm having mid semester exams, can't afford to sleep too lately). With other characters I have tried so many times and yet I can't beat stage 20 (only once with my Freeze) but with Henry it's just easy xD .

Okay, I've cooled down now though. (I still can't accept if someone says Henry's flute isn't overpowered though ). Anyway a player reaching a lower stage with good fights will still look as a better player than the ones reaching a higher stage by playing cheaply. I'm not interested anymore in breaking records since, just as xmfcx said, I should just enjoy the game.

@DrDeath: Well, that's a good thing . So don't replace the cool replays if someone break them with a lame record.

I may understand your point of view...

The fact is that each character have His main Strenght. Maybe Henry is better against several enemies than Davis? And maybe woody is better in one on one fights than Henry?

The better competition is what Martin Wong did. Set a Record with One character particularly ( that was Davis ... Why Martin likes him so much? Davis seems very poor to me) if we do so, there is no Injustice. But this idea looks so sad...
