Schools?
#1
Hi everybody,its me Monolanier.
I want to ask.
Do we need schools?not ordinary, its lfe schools, like spriting dcing or even hex,u see there is someone want to learn dc like doj now or someone else (not someone else member).
Best spriters like pf,siegver, apoc and more will teach how to sprite, they will help others who wants to learn, they will be teachers. They will help u with shading patterns, what colors best, how get best contrast.
Dcers will teach u most important things in dc,u know what i mean.
Hexers will teach basic of hexing.
If there is othe same thread i will delete this.

ok i will give u some thing.
When u reading some math book or teacher explaining about math, there is a different right?
I know this thread is pointless, but maybe if some 2 members want to learn from pf spriting by pm,it will be bit much problem that explaining to few more about it.
U wroted in about tuts, right?but how many have been looking in it,like now doj,he wants to learn from us not from tuts in main site,i think.
Ofcourse i cant change ur mind, cuz everyone have they own opinions

lol i think you missed the point in 'mines post :P he meant that the members you are talking (spoc,sieg,luti...etc) dony have that much time anymore.. i mean hey.. its not the same as it was 5 years ago when "some members" were young still 12-16 years old. joined like since 2005 and even earlier. lets take an example shall we?? :D

siegvar, idk how old is he. but back in the day when he was still know as "havoc creator" he did some pretty awesome sh*t in the lf2 world, awesome stuff that we all remember until this day.. in general "the guy rocked during his generation" but now the guy :'D grows up 20ish years old.. has a job.. girlfriend perhaps.. real life sh*t to take care of, AND THATS the reason why you dont see sieg (same example goes on bp,azriel,ramond,mh... the old guys) dont show up so often AND dont even post that often.

answer is simple :) the dont have the time like they used to.

also, yes doj want to learn dc, i know its not the same as spriting? but te first thing he should do is check out some tutorials. before i even started spriting i wanted to try dc. i checked out one single tut which gave me an idea on what this so called "dc" is. mh razens dc'ing tut. understood basics but then found out it isnt my style..
anyway doj should do the same.. check out some tuts, try to do something on his own. if he gets stuck somewhere he asks here we give him a solution he learns it and that mistake never happens again....etc and so on..

also for the guys who want to learn spriting as you mentioned, yes thru pm is useless. and as i said before dont i say DONT pm me and ask me how to sprite because you will be ignored.

-check out some tuts..
-try spriting over existing lf2 character.
-post the results.
-try as much as possible to work on the flaws everyone points out.
-try making a full character for a change.. dont get stuck with standing sprites, try different positions.
-repeat these steps until you are in a decent level.

-maybe someday a guy makes a live stream so you learn something new
-try adding some of your own touches be creative.
-sprite new stuff always and dont get stuck to one category.
-practice practice practice practice (i dont mean as until your eyes gets screwed up by the monitor, but when you have some free time)

-be patient, you wont get good in a day or so, its not frikkin fairy tail land. its takes time.

so yes, from my part.. i will try to help as much as possible for the new guys (and i am.. esp marko) tuts, explanations even live streams.. ;)

@Pf,i dont need you to translate for me,i knaw whats the meaning of buy some time.
My plan is working.
I know they not kids anymore, point of this thread was to make school for spriters, dcers, hexers member,to show are they just amature spriter (like me),or they in advanced level. To write u are better than amature spriter dcer or hexer isnt enough,u need to prove not in one way,u need to prove in more ways.
Thats why it need some pro to reveal or they just noobs like me or pro like luti

Well, Mono, I want to tell U something. First of all lfe school idea is not gonna work for a lot of reasons. Lets say people agreed for your idea and made this lfe school. Are the "teachers" always gonna be online? does everybody have the same time-zone? are U gonna be able to try wat you've been taught?(in case its dc) plus people like me just "hate school" and like to study things out freely without anybody looking after them. And not to mention this point; 2 student are there, one is 10 and the other is 16. Are they all gonna understand at the same speed?. Absolutely not, and the "teacher" well have to struggle to make the 10 years old student understand. And soon the 16 years old student will just leave resulting in the loss of time for both the "teacher" and the "student".
so.....................

How does posting sooner or later changes anything, and what does "acceting" means anyway. I think U confused the word "decision" with "discussion". And sorry for hearting your "feelings". If U want me to delete that post I will

pf and a-man's points are good.

the best that the experienced members can do to improve on static tutorials are to make video recordings explaining step by step (for spriting this would be good when explaining why some technique X is done, for dcing you'd have to use the real-time dcer to have any effective results in explaining how changing values change the gameplay).
