Yup, that's right. I have finally felt the urge to open up my own sprites-thread. Probably due to the fact that I'd like to have them all in one place rather scattered around all different threads. Therefore, the old ones shouldn't be strikingly new (or, they're that old that you can't remember them ). However, when I get bored and don't like to paint environments, space-stuff, and whatnot, I create sprites. And those are now going in here as well

Arthur - my entry for contest #19. My reference on this one was actually Henry VIII (sorry to disappoint you, Reaper, but it's not the "(more-or-less)shaved Da Vinci" (which is still find hilarious, btw). The right John-like guy was present in a personal mod I made in 2005-ish; like King Arthur, he is a master of the sword. The revamp is more towards the age, but admittedly, I focused to much on the details that I couldn't fit the sword in there

Mark's brother - just a sprite to practice hard-edged shading.

The phoenix - for the sprite-contest, theme: "A new race of fighter"

Famine - for the sprite-contest, theme: "Horsemen of the Apocalypse"

Dracula - because, heck, I have always wanted to sprite a vampire

Atlas - carrying the world upon his shoulders. The dude on the right was, like Arthur, present in a super-ancient mod.

Some random guy I sprited to try out drawing straight in 79²-res. It's so quick! :o

Ether v2 - I was never really happy with the original character-design but it was comparably easy to create a spritesheet with it. Just for the sake of overdoing stuff, I developed a little more grown-up version of Ether with a couple additional details...

Raven - The envoy of evil. The head-ornament is, in fact, supposed to be the skull of a crow... hard to see, I know. Ran out of pixels xD

Terminator - half human, half machine. Stronger than any other character of LF2 and, at the same time, equipped with a computerized brain. Rumours exist that only a "\0" can stop him. For those that don't know, google "null terminator".
Yet another reaper - because I was annoyed by the suckiness of the old version.

Fiona -- A very distant cousin of Freeze

Underworld -- Chained and sealed to limit his power to a minimum. Originally, I planned to make him a boss-character in a personal mod, but after coloring the line-sketch, he didn't look intimidating enough anymore, so I scrapped that project

Seth -- Posessed by evil spirits, he hides his face behind a theater-mask. Made for the sprite theme contest "shadow entity".

Zenobia -- The very first character I have created. However, a full sprite-sheet only exists in the 2007-version.

Scarlet -- although not looking strong, she can cast powerful dark elemental magic during which the patterns on her dress glow deep red.

The outcome of a sprite-tutorial I did a couple years ago. Everything on its separate layer, etc. Resulted in probably 30-40 layers lol. Never again

...because wings and torn clothes make everybody look more evil. Sprite theme "The True Final Boss". Funnily, it is stored on my computer as "ultra-julian.png" xD

so this is the level of one of admins LFE for sure everybody will write here only positive comments, so i'll be different (ofc i also like your works ), but some critics: just my opinion, but i don't like so much your "human sprites", like mr. Bean, or vampire, they looks kinda too much like painting (maybe other members like this style), but sprites like robot, phoenix, or this collab work are just incredible, similar like wings of death and Julian(?). i definitly would like to see MOAR

Really nice sprites. I've always been a fan of how you make fire, and your shading! But the human (even though lf2ish) proportions needs more practise.

That's probably my greatest weakness. I tend to overdetail these sprites. Something that isn't necessarily a good thing....

Yeah, as said, my regular approach usually goes beyond 2-3 values. I am going to try to sprite in 79x79 to kind of limit myself on not putting that many details in there. Curious as to how it'll turn out
