Log in & Log out alternate page

When we log in, there should be a option "Alternately, return to the main index".

But here's the question: why?

While logging in we may need to go to the forum index & While logging out we may need to go to where we came from!(sometimes)

Log in and go to forum index? Simple, just click the forum logo on the top left of the screen.

Log out and go back to where you came from? Why log out in first place then? You're rather supposed to log out when you're done with your forum session...

I don't see the point of this.

If we want to go to the thread we were viewing as a guest,after logging in,we can navigate our way back.If it is a very old thread that is locked up in Davie Jone's locker,than we can simply copy
the url before we log in can't we?or at least search in the searchbox?

And secondly,when we log out,it means we are about to be offline.We can view the forums as a member can't we?Then why would we want to view againafter logging out?We should view all we want when we are logged in.

Simply put,I feel this is not required.

One point I can see is that some people are possibly too lazy to go all the way back.

What if the member wants to pretend like he/she is not a member of these forums because his/her parents are very strict and won't allow him/her to make an account on any forums?

(sort-of like me, but I've had it with my parents being so strict that I'm not allowed to sign up at forums, but they'd punish me if I don't join places like Facebook)

If they don't allow then view as a guest.I don't think disobeying our parents will do US any good.
Or you can explain to them what are the good values of joining a forum community.Surely they will understand if we explain.(Except for few...)
