Critics would be highly appreciated, what do u think about the concept/sprite?

Gotta agree: shapes and colours are well chosen. I'd try out making the coloured cloth a notch lighter or more saturated to make him look less black-only on brighter backgrounds.

The stronger bend left arm irked me a little first, but I think I'm getting used to it.
Those thin, bend arms would work great for quick fluent up hooks as his basic punches. A bit like Firens (or Maverics first) left punch, except giving them an inward spin so the last relaxation frame has the lower arm horizontal in front of his chest. (Click to View)
I think there is no character so far doing this with both arms, and abusing radial motion for every punch is a kind of cheap/thievish fighting style. Unless you'd rather have him throw knives or something?

Well, little or no neck on LF2 characters is common. It's true that his tilt back torso, chin on chest and high collar enforce this even more. I don't think it's a problem though. Looks all right to me.


Already got ideas for his other motions or skills?

even though he is a thief/ninja, but his attire really remind me of the expendables.
so maybe melee combos and kunai/knife throwing?
and somehow thief/ninja always remind me of smoky evasion/escapes.

Ya - he could have them strapped to the back of his chest wrap. Acting a little like a quiver - but pulling them from below instead of above.

I was thinking of something like this:

But included on the back of the chest part he is already wearing (instead of extra strap/belt clutter).

They'd be less dangling and in the way up there than on the more mobile/twisting waist. And pulling them out downwards would look super rad.

Waist could work too, but that's a small difference on such a sprite.

i totally dig that idea of yinyin!
didnt think too much about the moveset yet, generally im rather bad when it comes to thinking about those D:

Well, if you are really getting into it just focus on a basic sheet first and how his movement shall animate. We'll have plenty ideas for you to chose from or get inspired by once you got a playable character in need of specials.

nice sprite, general quality looks good and color scheme seems well picked as well, but you keep failing the eyes on most of your sprites from what i have noticed and you should practice that i guess.

also, imo yinyin's idea seems the best suggestion so far, a knife in a strap around the chest, haven't seen it anywhere in a sprite around here before,
