RaMafia (round 1 - end)
MangaD Wrote:The best thing that the cop can do, which I had not think of, is first guess who the 2 mafia goons are, and only reveal himself and accuse them when he knows who they both are. If he accuses the first guy he finds right away, then he would die next, and we would still need to guess ourselves who the other 2 are. After revealing the 2 mafia goons he would be useless as a cop, so losing him or a townie afterwards wouldn't matter as his mission would be accomplished.

That's true, but that's the optimal case... what if he dies before divulging his information? Even if he doesn't get to check a mafia goon, the "citizen" result could be useful to us, to avoid lynching (Townies|GF) for now, and concentrate on the goons.

TheNave Wrote:he would probably do it like ramond and just accuse him without any reason... buuut I know the way ramond plays and doing some random accusations without reason is typical for him so I doubt he's the cop

I just hope that he doesn't try to do this... because a random accusation looks really suspicious for the rest of us, and we may not follow. And even if we do get the hint, I'm pretty sure that the remaining mafia will get it too, and he will die the next night.

As a personal opinion, I think that the Cop should stay low and reveal himself in the second day round, giving information about the two checkings made so far, and tell the Doctor to protect him in the third night to get one final check. That or wait up to the third day round and get 4 checkings, but I feel like it's too risky... the chances of mafias killing the Cop increase each round (not that much if we go with the no-kill thingy, but still), and 3 checkings are pure gold with this setting.

We have to play this pretty smart, we can't risk it and kill someone randomly, there is a Chance for the Town Doctor or Town Cop to die, I have some Suspects, but I will go with No-Kill as well.

Wouldn't it be less risky if the cop revealed himself now and just asked to protect him every night? That way it would be harder for mafia to find the doctor, because the probability decreases.
I mean now have 2/8* (25%) probability to lose an important townie role at night. If mafia and the doctor knew who is the cop, there would be no sense for mafia to kill cop at night as he would be defended, so the probability to find the doc decreases to 1/7** (14%).

* 2 important town roles (doc and cop); 8 townies in total.
** 1 doc; 7 remaining townies, considering cop is not targeted at night.

wow, I'm shocked you put me on your "would kill a first-timer" list... I was really excited to play along with STM :(

It is exactly because you say things like that why I suspect you. :p
Saying one thing and doing the other, which no one would think you'd do, seems to me like something you would do. ;)

Sounds like a very good strategy, I hadn't thought of that. If the doctor protects the cop after finding out who he is, then the Mafia would get no kill and it would be great for us. He should find out one of the goons asap. Then he can reveal himself, and as long as the doc lives he won't be targeted. :D I support your plan.

It would be nice, but suppose the Doctor dies next night, and the cop does not find any goons that night. After that the cop would get killed and we would have lost the 2 important players. Of course, otherwise the cop can die too next night.
So basically, if cop reveals himself, the probability of both doc and cop getting killed is 1/7, because if doc gets killed, the cop will follow.
And, if the cop does not reveal himself, the probability of one of them getting killed is 2/8. If one does get killed next night, the probability of the other getting killed is 1/7... So, if the cop does not reveal himself, the probability of both getting killed one after the other is 2/8 * 1/7, which is a lot lower, correct me if I'm wrong...

Unvote Apocalipsis.

In my humble opinion, the cop shouldn't reveal himself just yet. I'm willing to take the risk of him staying incognito for a few more days, gathering as much information as possible without any Mafia mind-tricking. Not quite sure how much 'a few more days' exactly is, but he should know when the optimal time to step forward is.
Oh and since TheNave cannot be trusted in general, it is definitely worth it to check him out sometime. I mean I'd say he's innocent this time around but I can't base that on the high player number itself.

It goes without saying that if the cop is about to be lynched, he shall announce his role before it is too late.

Voting LutiChris, and Ramond out.

I agree with MangaD and Ramond, and again, if we don't play this smart we can be in trouble, so far, the Mafia hated STM :/, Rest in Peace STM, for the duration of this round actually, I really hope you have a better chance at the next round :)

AmadisLFE tends to agree a lot. A bit too much if you ask me. Be wary of your tongue before the town decides you to be just bandwagoning to remain under the radar.

so why would you vote to lynch players then?! Not only do we increase the chance of the cop beeing killed at night, but we would also accidently force him to reveal his role in day phases if you go on accusing everyone like this

I don't vote to kill. I vote to pressurize. Apoc seemed to be pretty cool with me voting for him for no reason. Don't know what to make of that.
