Ramond's RPG Adventure v2.0
Blue Phoenix: Don't wanna risk entering Laneesh again, so I propose we'd better head east... meaning we should go left.

The group agrees and they take the main road, following it with all its ups and downs and perils. Not much happens though, and it is not long until Bamboori can make out a settlement in the distance.

Bamboori: We made it! There's a town!

After getting close to the first houses, they spot a welcome sign next to the road.

Sign: "Welcome to JG Rime"
SirFrog: Wow, that's a pretty odd name for a village.
Ian: Many settlements simply started out as large family establishments, with external people joining the settlement over time, wanting to settle down somewhere. Sometimes they'd change the name of the settlement to something more general, but oftentimes they'd simply keep their original name, which mostly somehow references the original family that settled.
Simon: Well, if you think its name is odd, then check this out. Down there.

At the bottom of the sign, a singing banana is depicted.

Drahcir: Humors.

The group enters the village. It's as quiet as a ghost town.

Nave: I don't like the sound of that.
Simon: You don't like the sound of nothing?
Nave: You're an imbecile who did not receive the gift of listening.
Simon: You're a dimwit who falsely believes he received a gift of listening.
Blue Phoenix: Cut it out already.

Village as quiet as a ghost town eh.

If there's no response from that shout, we can look for a commonly populated place to see what the deal is, say a tavern/inn.

Once we've ascertained this place is safe, we can get around to getting food, supplies and shoes for Bamboori.

SirFrog: ...Blue, you got our money, right?
Blue Phoenix: Sure do.

After a short while, they hear a kid shout inside one of the houses. Then a bearded muscular man of average height opens the door of a little shack on their right and steps out.

???: Greetings. What can we do for you?
Blue Phoenix: Hi. We're travellers and in need of a few supplies.

The stranger walks up to Blue Phoenix and they shake hands, and he briefly waves to the others.

Brady: My name's Brady, I'm the blacksmith of JG Rime. If you're in the need of equipment, I'm the one to provide a few nice pieces. For food and drink you could visit Hannah's tavern, it offers pretty much the best cuisine in these parts of the kingdom. If you plan to enter the desert, Matt runs a little store that is dedicated to surviving the desert. After all this is the last village before the desert begins.

As before, we should go to Hannah's tavern for extra info before we go to Matt's store or blacksmith Brady's.

Don't want to buy shoes for Bamboori only to find that they'd cause his feet to burn in the desert.

Aye, desert survival stuff will probably be pretty useful. Some info on what the heck is going on would be nice too. We'll probably need rations, clothing, waterskins and such. Also, did we need that axe?

Blue Phoenix: Thanks Brady, we'll be headed to the tavern now and return to your blacksmith later.
Brady: Sure thing. This village is shaped like a Y, and the tavern lies on the left path. Can't miss it.
Blue Phoenix: See you around.

The group heads deeper into the village and comes to the said Y-intersection pretty soon.

SirFrog: Left it is, I guess.

And still, there is nobody on the streets. Rarely has the group seen a village as quiet as this one. The tavern is located to their left, with an overhanging shield signalizing its location. "Fry's Tavern", it spells. The group enters. It is a relatively small tavern, unusually clean and contains just a few tables. Half of them are occupied with either eating, drinking or quietly chatting people. The bartender is wiping the counter with a mop while an attractive red-haired woman enters the room from a door behind the bar, carrying two plates with juicy roast pork.
A large rectangular table with 8 seats is free in the center; the group seats themselves except for Steiner, who seems to prefer standing guard behind Ian, and Phil, who rolls into a ball on snorsorbet's lap. The red-headed lady delivers the roast pork to a table next to them, then hurries over to the group.

???: Welcome to Fry's Tavern. Today's special is tender pork, originating directly from the grassy Rinstar Highlands, a paradise for animal and human alike! Only one gold coin per dish.
Nave: You must be Hannah, then?
Hannah: Well, that is correct, yes! And whom do I owe the pleasure?
snorsorbet: You most likely don't know us, we were just introduced by the blacksmith Brady...
Hannah: Oh, you've met Brady? He's a nice guy, isn't he? I'd love to chat a little more, but currently we're a bit busy. May I take your orders first?

Roasted duck would be nice, for both Steiner & Ian. Poultry is good!
(would be nice to know how strong the gold currency is, I've no idea what the relative cost of stuff are)
