RaMafia (round 1 - end)

No, it is not. What if you lynch the sheriff/doctor? What if you lynch a citizen? It will all benefit the Mafia. Sure you are not forgetting that we still have a sheriff that is doing his job?

While the sheriff is alive, I see no reason for us to murder each other blindly.

While I agree all this is bad for the citizens, I would argue the pros outweigh the cons. If no one gets lynched, all kills (except maybe now with thugs) benefit mafia. There's nothing to base any accusations on, and effectively all you do is stall until everyone's dead. This has been a mafia strategy in past games. If they can get it going, they will be happy to jump onto the bandwagon and lazily ride their way to victory. I'll say that mafia is unlucky that they caught their thugs like that, but otherwise I'll stand behind what I said.

That said, mafia f***** up big time, because at this point, they'd win in about 9/10 cases if thugs were still alive. Because it is what it is though, you could choose to gamble on a no-kill tonight, resulting in a 5:3 for the next day, at which point I would not do no-kills if I were a citizen. But hey, I'm not telling you how to play your game, since I win if the mafia wins, so...

Quote:The rest of the arguments against Rhino were just to see how he'd respond. I must say I'm not very happy with him revealing sensitive information like that. Maybe I would have trusted him more if he hadn't reveal anything. Well, he did not reveal everything and for that I am glad.
I'd not be happy either if the info he gave away were true.

Quote:2. No kill is bad strategy!

No, it is not. What if you lynch the sheriff/doctor?
I'd care for the former, if it wasn't the 3rd night already. Now, if the sheriff is targeted for lynching, there would be enough people he checked on to divert the accusation simply by accusing other people. As for the doctor, chances we hit him are 3 times less compared to the chances we hit a mafia.

What if that, what if this. If we hit a citizen, it's not a big deal. It's a game where you're supposed to take risks. The sheriff is doing his job, right, but even that is only supposed to increase the likelihood of hitting a mafia (to 100% if lucky). But we really can't just wait for the sheriff to find a mafia for certain. This game can't last more than 7 rounds, (usually even less; it goes as far as 7 rounds only ~6% of the times according to the sim). We're at round 3 already!..

I hope we see a tie breaker which doesn't go towards the no-kill choice.

LOL! You got me. =P

About the no-kill. The sheriff is still alive, he can check people in a safe way. The doctor is alive as well, he can protect the sheriff.

Also, there is one fact here that is not taking place in this discussion. But I'll just say this:

The mafia got extra power this round - 2 thugs to defend them. What extra power does the town have? ;]

Trust me, no-kill is the best decision.

lol I figured it was a cool phrase too, might use it :P.

Not none, but regardless the sim doesn't involve this extra power. In fact, every turn we vote no-kill, its 5% less chance we win this.

Noo, that's illogical. I gave proof -.- I wish you'd find a problem in my argument or sim instead.

I further suggest not allowing voting "no-kill" in future rounds.

You are not playing with all cards from the deck, that's all.

Anyway, if you want blood...

I change my vote to Amadis.

It wouldn't have gotten any better even if I did. No-kill is a bad idea in most cases.

Nice, you did it even though that puts you in danger. That's a good point in your defense. I will hope this ends up lynching the right person.
