I think it would be a bad idea for him to help you now, even if you are indeed a citizen. What if there is a Mafia-aligned Trapper?

Hmm, but what does a trapper do? I couldn't find it on STM's list of professions, so if you may enlighten us on what can a trapper do.

Oh, it's a somewhat common role in Ramond's Mafia games as far as I remember. He traps a selected player's room at night, and kills anyone that "visits" the selected player, like Sheriff, Doctor, Mafias (usually the first or last one to vote against him).

There's no player named "Trapper" this time, but that does not mean there isn't a player with those abilities in this setup (the Artisan maybe?).
Also, Ramond's example of the PM subject says "Trapper - Night 2".

Since trapping every night would be a little too overpowered, you possess as many traps as there are Mafia.
Each night, you send me a PM choosing whether to trap a room or not. If you decide to trap the room of a person, anybody (not the inhabitant of the room) who enters that room will be decimated.

If multiple people visit the same room in a night, the priority order is as follows: Mafia > Mafia Vigilante > Vigilante > Doctor

The Sheriff and the Godfather are invulnerable to trapping.

Your goal is to take out the Mafia.

If such a role exists in this setup, then he could bait special citizens to target him, or trap someone who is innocent but publicly asks for protection.

But that's entirely possible. I might be a mafia targeted to somehow trap the doctor. But that would be a really risky move to do in the first phase by the mafia. The other possibility is that I'm a thug who was somehow identified by the mafia and willing to sacrifice myself for the sake of the plan. Number 3 is that I really am a targeted citizen. I'm sure nobody expected an ability to find about targets of mafia would exist, probably not even the mafia themselves. It's very likely a mafia user with such an ability, if they exist, have already declared not to use his ability this phase by the time I wrote that message.

I would see why a doctor wouldn't want to help me, so I'll leave the decision to him.

What is 'step up our game' supposed to mean in this context? You may think that does sound 'serious', but it sounds more like a buzz-phrase to me. Please try to stop posting just for the sake of posting.
