SirFrog: Let's head left.

The group follows the left path until the road gradually becomes more narrow and it completely disappears. Strangely enough it reappears in visual range straight ahead, but snorsorbet spots something peculiar right where the new road begins.

snorsorbet: Look at that over there, on the floor.
SirFrog: What's that?
Nave: Looks like a bundle of joy.

After approaching the mysterious object slightly it shapes into the figure of a human body, seemingly motionless.

snorsorbet: It's a body.
Blue Phoenix: Yes, but what's it doing there?
Bamboori: This might be a trap. It's not too late to turn back or give it a huge berth.

About 50 steps separate the group and the body.

How long would a skeleton last outside of battle?
Because I'm wondering if I could just get Ian to make a skeleton and send it to trigger any booby traps ahead.

If I had to make a consistent decision, I'm afraid skeletons cannot be raised outside of battle and won't last longer than the battle they were raised in.

SirFrog: Hang back, let me check if it's what it seems.

I cast Analyze on that corpse.

SirFrog proceeds to cast Analyze (-1 MP) on the body. The result is unambiguous - that lifeless body is indeed lifeless.

SirFrog: Yep, body's dead all right.
Nave: And?
SirFrog: And what?
Nave: Is it a trap?
SirFrog: How could I know? Why don't you know, with all your tingling danger senses and stuff?
Nave: Oh, shut it.

SirFrog: It could've been a ruse. Or a zombie. Or a zombie ruse. Either way, I suggest we walk around it. Stay off the road a bit.

Agree with SirFrog, see if we can walk around the body.

Simon: I agree with the sorcerer, let's advance carefully.

They cautiously move around the corpse, keeping a sufficiently large distance to it while examining their surroundings for suspicious activities. Nothing stands out in an unusual way though, but still they decide to continue down the way parallel to the road in case of another ambush.
Not much later they come across a sign next to the road. After a cautious approach they are able to read its contents.

"Exiting Rinstar Highlands, Blazing Farmlands ahead"

Drahcir: Have we ventured too far out?
