People (like me) thought that they will have till the 10th, so they probably aren't rushing it just for the contest to close.

Also like I said I'm still making another bg, and even if all the other people want to change it I suggest to atleast have it opened one week more...

apoc suggests to leave it open for at least a week, the set date is in less than two weeks. Not that big difference, I'd say. You'll survive, I'm sure

Imo, one needs to be confident about winning, or improve the Bg... I thought mine was not better than Derelict, so I made another one... But if you don't see any BG better than yours then there's no need to improve.

With this I mean, you can't know if mine is better than yours xD But since my old one took just 2-4 days, and this +15, there would be a big difference in them. I hope it will worth the wait...

Here it is. Before anyone tell me that the waterfalls are in a wrong perspective, I would like to say: I don't care. It was really hard to do each frame for those waterfalls animation. I used a different technique for the lake animation this time. Combine both in a sequence was a pain too Dx But I'm really pleased with those...

Also you could tell me that it's really symetric. Just make one side was incredible time consuming, I won't do twice the work just for a little eyecandy xD.
The way it's made is kinda cheap, I know, and maybe it causes lag (big images animated), but I didn't find another way to make it like I wanted... d**n 30 frames limit.

really nice looking background, kinda of anime style
is is the quality of the picture, or is it that all of the background looks like its been converted to a gif? (reducing picture quality)
and the ground/ fighting area looks a little dark
im only basing my critic on what i can see from the screenshot
