Although, i don't think so. If you drew that, you'd have your answer for your next question already about the thin hair lines.

Anyway. there are 2 ways to do thin hair lines.
1. use a tablet and its pressure sensitive option, and practice with it until you get godlike control with it.
2. Eraser tool. Use the brush to create a line, and then use the eraser tool to erase and sharpen its edges, much like you might use a razor to sharpen a pencil.

2. is easier to learn, but overall its more time consuming and troublesome.
1. takes more time to learn, coz you need to practice alot with the tablet before you can get that effect under control.

I tend to use a mix of both.

You should know how I do it by just looking at it.

Magnus and Drew have different methods.

To do Magnus' hair I used the blur tool with the "Finger painting" box checked. Just use it a bit and you'll know (If you have Photoshop, that's it)

To do Drew's hair I used a better method wich is basically a shade. Yeah, darkest colour, normal color, lightest colour. It's pretty simple actually. Zoom in, I think I used three colors for that hair.

You should really zoom the sprite and check what you can't do carefully, then think in a way to reproduce it. It's better like that.

i didn't know it was 3? I thought having more colors would make it too fake and blurry, when i fuz it up a bit (or soften)

take for example Casper sprite compared with the life-sized one...
The white high-lights are bigger...
(I'm thinking of editing casper to make him smoke... )

Try not to fuzz up the hair - when you soften it, it often comes out slightly odder. Practise with 3 colours to get the right balance :P


oh and elias - for your signature, anything to the power of zero = 1. Not zero. Maths fail :P
