fake privite messages

sometimes it says "you have unread privite messages! click here to read them!"
i click it, no new messages.
it really gets on my nerves.

This happens to me only when I am notified of a private message, I read it and then when I click "Back" the notification remains.
But not a serious problem, I will survive

hmm... The next time you get it, instead of clicking on it, try refreshing
the page first and see if it stays there.

I used to have that fake PM thing a very long time ago, that's interesting. I'll send you a real PM. After you read it, I want you to delete it. See if the fake one is gone as well. If it is already gone before I sent that PM, then just delete it anyway. See if the bug happens again.

That's a real PM - a mod did edit your post (click here!). However, there's been a bug, whereby the post you're supposed to be linked to is not correct.

also, @JoshEX, whenever MH makes an update on the MyBB thing there are usually bugs, and thats usually the common one.

It's some php-script. {1} is supposed to be a the variable responsible for the name of the recipient and {2} should be the link to the moderated post. As neither MH nor I have gotten the around fixing this, I feel so free to temporarily disable the PM-receival so that you won't get a notice when a mod edits your post. If you still get those PMs, one of us is probabably fixing the issue. Emphasis on probably.

As for your issue, JoshEX, do you open unread threads in new tabs and read PMs in one of those/in a new one? This wouldn't be a bug then because there is simply no refresh-option for the PM-deal. That wouldn't be something to worry about. However, if the problem persists/is caused by something else, please elaborate it a little more so that I can reproduce this. In general: if I can't reproduce a problem, it's unfixable :P

figured it out:
I check my pms.
didnt click the back button.
THEN i went to a different website.
I press the back button sevral times. till im here.
then says "you have unread private messages".
no new privite messages.

man this problem still exists...when i have a private msg i go and read it ok so after i read it its done its supposed to be read. but no that word "you have unread private msgs click here to read them" still exists so i have to click it again to make it go away..
