A little old and slightly off topic but...
That's why I try not to think of those Star {insert wicked name in here} series as Science Fiction, but think of it was Fantasy! and all their crap about the science fiction elements? LIES. ITS ACTUALLY MAGIC! MAGIC WITH WEIRD MAGICAL RULES THAT SOUND LIKE SCIENCE.
That's how I manage to still love Star Wars.

1) DO NOT PM ME
2) Go read up on anatomy and proportions online. (google is your best friend)
3) Go read up on pencil sketching-shading.
4) Practice by making FULL character sheets. (Refer to bases and references if you have to, occasionally try doing things from scratch. You have to mix both methods; bases and without.)
5) DO NOT be an arrogant, self-righteous prick when people try to give useful critiques, and ignore the ones who are flaming idiots. (Flaming them back makes you one of them.)
6) Repeat steps 2 to 5 until you're happy, or you think you're good, then start sharing your knowledge with your fellow spriters.
7) Showcase your sprites. At first, do not be discouraged when you don't get any critiques, or lousy/generic critiques. Continue practicing and showcasing your work. With more sprites, it will be clearer what your strengths and weaknesses are, and people may be better able to give you better critique.
Lastly, if you think saying all this makes me an arrogant, self-righteous prick who is too selfish to share his knowledge...
Then I say you cannot recognise wisdom when I've just slapped you in the face with it. (Also, those steps are the same steps I used to get to where I am, I don't know any way else to truly learn.)
Unless you think its worth my time, go F*** yourselves. I'm not going to bother to even reply to PMs like "can you help me make this character?" anymore.

No, it's a (terrestrial) British company dealing with oil issues in the Caribbeans.
Why do I get the feeling that this is not what is expected?

Before I make my post on this and completely make a fool of myself, I am curious as to what you define impossible Sieg and BP. If it's something like warp speed, that is understandable, but do tell, I am extremely curious now.

I didn't follow the thread carefully... but I think one of the examples they brought up was wormholes... and this link:
http://quantumweird.wordpress.com/2007/1...wormholes/
Which basically makes any form of practical intergalactic travel featured in science fiction literature pretty much impossible.
There's obviously other even more ridiculous things that come to mind... like lightsabers... but that was a stretch to begin with anyway.
And screw the lightsaber from the documentary sci-fi science. If it can't deflect laser beams it ain't a lighsaber. Imo all they had was a glorified blow torch.

I think that link above overkilled this thread...
Actually my brain exploded, too, after reading that article XD

well, it just strongly disproves why we most likely won't be able to use a wormhole as shortcut for long distances
not that complicated atall

Je, WHAT it does say is not complicated, but HOW it does... surely is o.o

Basic Physics, nothing more. It's actually one of those articles that are written in an understandable fashion, unlike some other essays I've read regarding relativistic mechanics.

1-The wormhole will burn u
2-Ur butt will accelerate at a lower speed than ur eyes.
3-Big fireworks at the end
4-Only one way
5-Anything i forgot to mention
