Broken edited Weapons

Is it possible to change broken.dat in a way that manages to present frames for broken new weapons?

Not without editting the EXE in one way or another.

The closest thing you can do with normal LF2 data changing is to make the new weapon spawn another object via opoint kind 2, and hold it via wpoint. Whenever the new weapon is broken, it is deleted, thus dropping the object it is carrying, and making it play a "broken" animation.

Its not perfect, and you'd likely want to make the opoint only happen when the weapon has fallen to the ground, but its way better than having no broken animation at all.
