[solved] Adding Effects to walking
#1
I'm trying to add effects to my template's walk but it seems to only work for standing. When i put this for standing, the effects work just fine .But when i put it like this for walking the effects dont show up, what am i doing wrong?

<frame> 3 standing
pic: 3 state: 0 wait: 3 next: 999 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 centerx: 39 centery: 79 hit_a: 0 hit_d: 0 hit_j: 0
opoint:
kind: 1 x: 53 y: 80 action: 64 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 oid: 997 facing: 0
opoint_end:
wpoint:
kind: 1 x: 32 y: 44 weaponact: 21 attacking: 0 cover: 0 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 dvz: 0
wpoint_end:
bdy:
kind: 0 x: 21 y: 18 w: 43 h: 62
bdy_end:
<frame_end>

<frame> 5 walking
pic: 4 state: 1 wait: 3 next: 999 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 centerx: 39 centery: 79 hit_a: 0 hit_d: 0 hit_j: 0
opoint:
kind: 1 x: 53 y: 80 action: 64 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 oid: 997 facing: 0
opoint_end:
wpoint:
kind: 1 x: 45 y: 53 weaponact: 21 attacking: 0 cover: 0 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 dvz: 0
wpoint_end:
itr:
kind: 1 x: 40 y: 16 w: 25 h: 65
catchingact: 120 120 caughtact: 130 130
itr_end:
bdy:
kind: 0 x: 28 y: 15 w: 27 h: 65
bdy_end:
<frame_end>

Opoint never works in the first frame. Try it in the next walking frame.

If this doesn't work, use state 3 in the walking frames.
(Still not sure if it works then)

The problem with the walking stuff is that actually every walking-frame will be the first frame in the sequence. That sounds kinda weird, but DC-wise it is that case.
You could either do it with the method Lauli suggested or you can create a new frame, let's say, frame 398
you write something like this:
Code:
<frame> 5 walking
pic: 4 state: 1 wait: 2 next: 398 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 centerx: 39 centery: 79 hit_a: 0 hit_d: 0 hit_j: 0
wpoint:
kind: 1 x: 45 y: 53 weaponact: 21 attacking: 0 cover: 0 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 dvz: 0
wpoint_end:
itr:
kind: 1 x: 40 y: 16 w: 25 h: 65
catchingact: 120 120 caughtact: 130 130
itr_end:
bdy:
kind: 0 x: 28 y: 15 w: 27 h: 65
bdy_end:
<frame_end>

<frame> 5 walking
pic: 4 state: 3 wait: 0 next: 999 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 centerx: 39 centery: 79 hit_a: 0 hit_d: 0 hit_j: 0
wpoint:
kind: 1 x: 45 y: 53 weaponact: 21 attacking: 0 cover: 0 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 dvz: 0
wpoint_end:
bdy:
kind: 0 x: 28 y: 15 w: 27 h: 65
bdy_end:
opoint:
kind: 1 x: 53 y: 80 action: 64 dvx: 0 dvy: 0 oid: 997 facing: 0
opoint_end:
<frame_end>
I believe this should solve your prob.
If not, then you'll have to create 4 new frames, that link to the next frame in the walking sequence, like:
4-394 -5-395 -6-396 -7-397(-999)
whereas the regular walking frames run on state: 1 and the others on a state of your choice
