Hey guys,
I'm completely out of motivation.
As i started i was like:
"Yo, i love dcing. I hate spriting because i'm not good. And hey what's that? Exe editing? Sounds cool and hey it is fun spriting with digital effects but wait... this codes and stuff are really hard so i'll just skin the exes. Hey what about making my own exe? Yo, there it is. And they like it. What about representing me with a character."
And then the problems started. Kenzo kinda ruined me. He bashed the motivation out of me. He was so frustrating to make because i had so many problems.
Now i'm kinda sure if i had all that knowledge from now i would surely rock this character. But Fact is i didn't had it.
And now i'm kinda... scared from doing another one.
Why doing everything again and work for 1 year on 1 character and get 1 damn reply.
That's just not worth it.
I even tought about quitting lfe and lf2.
If you want you can motivate me here in this thread if you want me to go on.
If not just leave me alone and i'll go.

Say, it's actually pretty normal to lose motivation at some point. After all it's just doing the same thing over and over...
You don't really have to make another char now. You could take a break from DCing, that doesn't mean you need to quit LF2 and LFE.
You shouldn't rush to finish a char, because DCing is a hobby and should be done for fun. If you're stressed with DCing, you're supposed to take a break until it's fun again.
I don't know what else to say. After all it's your decision.

Everything I've ever finished was that box-tower, a baseball char, a halloween-stanley-prison, a shuriken-skin and... nothing more.
But therefore I started a huuuge amount of big things and never finished those.
Not even 1 char like Clew.
So do whatever you feel like. Even if it's nothing.

Ok here's my form of motivation.
Either you get RE-motivated, or I will find you...and bad things will happen. How's that?

hm... I guess not that many people have actually realized that your char is finshed. There was this beta-version and then the thread was in releases, but some might not have noticed that he is completed now. Kenzo was actually the only char I wanted to test since Alblakas nohan( thought about testing ether, too) but school simply kills me. In the week I have no time at all and on weekend I forget about things But good that you remind me of it.
And well, just do what you want. If you don't want to do another char yet, maybe make some single sprites first. Somewhen you will get to the point where you think: "I want to make another character." Or make a bg, write something... Its completely up to you.
Oh and one thing, maybe it helps you:

Well look at me, I never good at spriteing or have good idea of DC.
Well just take a break from all the hard work, just do some sprites or help me with Manji DC (I didn't meant that).
Also loots of people in here that DC don't make lots of char, only people that like spriting make lot's of char.
If you don't feal good about doing something just don't, but why dose that makes you quite LFE.
I am back, not really.

I have a suggestion.
But, it is exceedingly harsh, and may not be what you want to hear.
However, it is my honest and frank opinion. I will be as harsh as it takes, as evil as it takes, as much of an arrogant bastard if I think its for a good cause. (Also, this evil bit is really bashing just one of your sentences, which you may or may not have just said out of frustration, but in the evil bit I'll treat it as completely serious on your part.)
Therefore, read at your own risk. If you think you don't have the stomach for it, then just skip this part and look at the nice and polite summary below it.
GO STROKE YOUR EGO ELSEWHERE.
You finished Kenzo right? why aren't you happy with it? was it not fun to play as? then maybe you should try making another character, make it fun to play as. Maybe think about the combo possibilities... maybe think about giving it strategic strengths and weaknesses... maybe that'll make stage mode more interesting.
Or maybe fun isn't what you're looking for.
Maybe you want to make something nice for people. Let them have fun. But sometimes they don't find it fun, or they find it fun but don't bother to tell you. Then what? Well... I suppose it shouldn't affect you.
You wanted to make the character, you took a risk, and now you bear the consequence.
If you give sh*t excuses like "Work for 1 year and only get 1 reply, that's just not worth it", then you can just f***ing go to hell. You want people to acknowledge your skill? Then don't whine like a pansy and get to work. Make something so good that it'll make them crap their pants, and if you fail, know that you're constantly improving as long as you're doing something, and try and try again.
Or maybe you can't take that kind of pressure, in that case:
This is a f***ing hobby. You do it for YOURSELF, because YOU find it FUN. Don't impose the task of stroking your ego to us. You can PRAY that we do it when you make something awesome. But just coz we don't shouldn't be a reason for you to quit. That's just the mentality of a wuss.
So, if you still think its not worth it, I say, get the f*** out of here.
The words of normal Siegvar:
Bottom line is, this is a hobby, you're supposed to be having fun, if you're not. maybe you should do something else.
And, for reference, in my 10 years in doing modding for lf2. I've only finished 8 characters. Of which, only 6 were ever publicly released, and I only got comments for 2 of them. I've not regret any of the effort I put in. Simply because it was fun for me just to be able to play the characters I created.
"I may devour the five continents, and swallow the three seas, but a body with neither wings, nor hands, nor feet, is powerless against the sky."
My stuff:
| sprites | frozen |
1) DO NOT PM ME
2) Go read up on anatomy and proportions online. (google is your best friend)
3) Go read up on pencil sketching-shading.
4) Practice by making FULL character sheets. (Refer to bases and references if you have to, occasionally try doing things from scratch. You have to mix both methods; bases and without.)
5) DO NOT be an arrogant, self-righteous prick when people try to give useful critiques, and ignore the ones who are flaming idiots. (Flaming them back makes you one of them.)
6) Repeat steps 2 to 5 until you're happy, or you think you're good, then start sharing your knowledge with your fellow spriters.
7) Showcase your sprites. At first, do not be discouraged when you don't get any critiques, or lousy/generic critiques. Continue practicing and showcasing your work. With more sprites, it will be clearer what your strengths and weaknesses are, and people may be better able to give you better critique.
Lastly, if you think saying all this makes me an arrogant, self-righteous prick who is too selfish to share his knowledge...
Then I say you cannot recognise wisdom when I've just slapped you in the face with it. (Also, those steps are the same steps I used to get to where I am, I don't know any way else to truly learn.)
Unless you think its worth my time, go F*** yourselves. I'm not going to bother to even reply to PMs like "can you help me make this character?" anymore.

Actually, without that many "fucks" and the like in your harsh-speech, it wouldn't sound so harsh at all.
But actually I agree with your first spoilered-sentence. Aaactually.
Actually.
