think you mixed up the 2nd and 3rd option.. look at it again.. shouldn't be "/not a good idea" next to the third option?
anyways i would rather say its unfair, cause you actually get more or less no chance to block these combos.. which means if you are on ground, have fun with the feeling off getting killed.
maybe it could be good also, ppl would be more caring and would try not to get hit down..

i think in lf2 special version you can damage a char while he is lying on the ground with a firen exp or a freeze wind.

Chose the third option.
You'll need to tweak it into perfection if you want to make it work.
Something with a balanced ukemi (google) or something.
Suggestion: Being able to press J just before the opponent's attack lands to roll out of it's way. Needs IK:8, though, which can make it look messy due to the centerx alignment.

I suggest you should add smthing like a fast recovery when lying on ground, like when pressing Defend while lying you'll roll/dash back/crouch to get back up again
ofc, that fast getting up should cost some mps and/hps so it can't be like spammed all the time

i actually really like the idea man, i say go for it!
see, that was one of the problems i thought lf2 should have fixed. when on a 1 on 1 fight, when you knock them down, you have to wait for them to get back up.
for example Hero fighter, you get up really quickly, which makes the fighting more intense.
also, as a side note, are you gonna add when you get up and press A or something you attack, to stop people from hanging around you (a.k.a 'spawn killing')?
i really hope this goes ahead, because lf2 needs that degree of intenseness.
