Subbed or Dubbed?

How many of you folks prefer listening to movies/episodes in your native language or would you rather hear it from their's and read the subtitles instead?
I personally enjoy listening to it in their language because i find more authentic and natural.
Listening to any anime episode i've ever watched, i couldn't stand hearing it in english, but that's just me :P

First of all, my hearing isn't that great, I might miss words that are said rather than read. Secondly, the media, whether anime or game or whatever, usually sounds much better in the original language, its more natural and more expressive, and I get the impression that most dubs aren't very good. Furthermore, subs can help explain certain language-specific jokes/puns in context, which may be lost or replaced entirely with something new in dubs.

I actually like Dubbed version, but sometimes, the voice is so strange that I just don't even want to listen and rather watch the Subbed. :P

subbed is better, it gives better feel and originality (especially anime and sitcoms stuff)

I mostly watch TV (this is just my personal abbreveation for anything video-esque) while I'm doing stuff. Not having to glue my eyes to the screen in order to read the subtitles helps greatly in increasing productivity. Inb4 why do you watch TV while you're trying to be productive -- because I can and because I can't just sit around and not do anything. So yeah, dubbed for me.

In 99% of cases the movies I watch are in English, and I listen to them, in English, and absolutely hate dubbed versions. In the event that a movie I'm watching isn't natively in English I'll usually watch it in its native language, and have either English or Danish subtitles (preferably English).
The only times where I watch a movie with dubbed speech, is when people I am watching the movie with prefer it this way, or when there simply isn't an alternative IE no subtitles, which is very rare though.

So subbed, I would say.

Sometimes a lot of the visuals get lost because I'm busy reading the subtitles. On the other hand everything is more authentic and natural, so hearing a voice over would destroy a lot of emotion etc.
So I usually go for original with subtitles and later rewatch a dubbed version. That is - only if the original is in some language I can't understand.

With one single exception (Monk) I watch series and movies in their original language (which are English 99% of the time anyway), and I tend to avoid subtitles at all if possible.

In my case, it depends mainly on the sound actors. In most dubbed versions, sound actors just sound all the way wrong (when they give a child a very mature voice). Usually, it just depends on what you're used to watch. Starting straight with a dubbed show, thinking it is the original, then going to the real original subbed version which you think it isn't will give you the feel that the first one you thought was original sounds better. Quoting Lauli for truth: Dubs aren't always all that bad.
