WeaponHP, wearing and tearing?

Is it possible to make a weapon itself weakened each time it's waved (while in hand) to hit an enemy?

Recently I surfed the net and found a bubble wand weapon but it is kind of too powerful. I love its idea and it's fun to play with. However, it is too annoying and powerful if you just keep on waving it and release the bubbles... Three to four bubbles attacking the enemy, the enemy will be K.O. quickly.

Yes it's possible,

If you mean the weapon will get destroyed after waving bubbles several times, then it'll be easy.
But if you mean the Damage of the bubble will get weakened/reduced each time you use it, then it'll require a costly method.

looks like the weap functions by spawning stuffs when it enter certain frames.

imo, would be best to change it slightly so instead of directly spawning the bubbles, it would spawn an object with hidden bdy for the weap to hit, which would enter a frame or spawn something that hits the weap's hidden bdy for the hp decrease, then becomes or spawn the bubble.

note that the only reason to not go for direct bubble spawn is just preventing the weap also spawning bubbles when not actually attacking.

If you want the bubble wand to lose hp with each swing, the most straight forward way is to make the bubble themselves able to damage the wand.
The downside is that it can be quite noisy since the wand will play its hurt sound, and you might have issues with overlappung wands/bubbles.

Yes, Nya. It's exactly this bubble wand I was talking about.


and thanks all, I kinda solved it already. It changed the weapon hp to 200 only, and per drop hurt 100, and then each spawned bubble will only attempt to chase an enemy once and then next: 1000, and each time a bubble attacks, it injured only 2 hp.... now this weapon is more "balanced".

and yes, I looked into it and strangely it only spawns bubbles at certain frame.... and so not every character can spawn the bubbles properly since each character holds weapons at different frame no.
