Do we call it flipping or rowing? (We definitely don't call it jumping ._.) I'm with flipping.

I'm with flipping. rowing = flipping and/or rolling i prefer calling it by its exact animation so most times flipping and for the other: rolling cartwheeling haha dodging or shadow image so rowing is general for a characters dodge/recover move favorite dcing techniques: wpoint | double key inputs | holding back | alternate basic moves

That sounds good.
Flipping and rolling sounds nice. I'm really used to the term jumping, but may confuse many people as it confused me the first time I heard that. I've used the term jump so many times in the wiki, :o .
About armor piercing attacks, I think there should be: Unblockable attacks - such as flute, soul bomb, whirlwind Piercing attacks (or armor piercing attacks) - such as super arrow, energy disk The difference is that unblockable attacks cannot be defended as well, so it's not only about the armors. Piercing attacks cannot be blocked by armor but can still be defended. And another term for fire/ice attacks that ignores Louis' and Knight's armor. Elemental attacks? That means we consider all other energy blasts and palms as non-elemental while in RPG's we can actually find wind, darkness :P . Magic comes to my mind, but what is John if not a mage xD , his energy blast doesn't ignore anyone's armor. Wait, we sure need a mechanic to eventually add the terms we discuss into the list of Accepted Terms XD . To conclude from our discussion, we need at least a simple rule. Maybe if 4 people agrees without anyone questioning/disagree, then we should add it to the list. Currently I agree with the term flipping and rolling, and from the posts above zort and YinYin also do, right? So 3 people already, only 1 more and we can add it to the list. But if someone doesn't agree then we have to discuss further, maybe someone has a better idea. Also no problem if someone ask about terms that are already in the list.

Sure, flipping for jumping after getting hit, and rolling for... rolling on the floor laughing. :P
Yeah, elemental attacks/projectiles will do. Typically one would associate fire, water/ice, air and earth with it, but I believe it should be made clear somewhere that elemental only refers to fire and ice in LF2. Quote of the Day f***ing Year (Click to View)

If adding a term galvanizes someone, they'll speak up.
What's the deal with deflect vs rebound vs switch teams again? Deflect means cause to change direction, switch teams means what it sounds like it means, and rebound means deflect + cause to switch teams?
As for attacks that can hit a falling guy, I've been calling them attacks that can catch. Could also call them combo attacks, since they're the ones that're most useful in combos.
The bright-red and dark-red components of one's health bar: let us call them simply light health and dark health? Thus, healing transmutes dark into light. Wait, what am I talking about... the light health is the only actual health. Let us call the dark-red component "potential health".
Can we use minion or mook instead of follower? Eh? "follower" is more for culty contexts. Mook is perfect but not very common outside TVTropes. Minion works. Let us say "character" for a type of guy, whom you can choose to play as, and "fighter" for an individual sprite on the battlefield. If you're familiar with object-oriented programming, fighters are instances of characters. |
