uhh huh... either:
1) dvz: 550 in the ik8 or if it still fails,
2) opoint a t3 which opoints the ik8. the t3 has a hit_j: 51(actually i think it meight be 49. not sure tho)causing it to move up the pixel wrong.

hey jed37, you know you can also make the stomping move for balrog?
you just need to use state 100 (i think) for the move...
take a look at louis (and louis ex) dash attack data and you'll see what i mean

I know how to use state: 100, but I forget what his stomping move is. Care to explain? Also, what do you think of Quote?

it's hit_j: 49, though you might have to use 48 or 47 with a wait: 0. (opoint shifts an object down from the opointer by 1 z value, ik8 does the same (the object with the ik8 is z+1, where z is the z coordinate of the object with the bdy)).

Thank you all for your wonderful help with the character. If only some of you would download it and comment on what has been done. *wink wink, nudge nudge*

hate people not trying stuff.
anyway, the DC seems very clean to me, so well done in that department. I did not look at the data itself, but gameplay is smooth and that's the most important. Guess the other quirky stuff was intended, though I don't really like it, such as not being able to run and pick up normal weapons.

However, a character like this would probably only appeal to people who likes the game, which seems far and few here because it just lacks the general wow factor. On the other hand, it could be good reference for those learning more advanced data changing methods.

All in all, nice try. Would like to see something that would be less of a niche product from you next time, such as the monkey.

Thanks for being one of the only people to actually download it, and the only one so far to comment!

The lack of running, catching, etc was on purpose, in order to make it more similar to Cave Story's gameplay. The inability to pick up weapons was a necessity because of his guns.

It really is a shame how few people here have played the game. Cave Story looks great, plays great, and has an awesome storyline too, as I'm sure DubbleD could vouch for :P

Maybe I'll make the monkey character, but I never really had been intending to make a full character out of it. It was just for the contest.

Anyway, thanks again for the comment! :)

Eh well. the target audience between LF2 and Cave Story is quite different...

Cave story's awesome btw. one of my all time fav indie titles(Played through the main story dozens of times, got all endings except the one that requires you to clear the secret level and bosses; Ballos is a b*tch to kill. I think I made it to his 4th form a few times and never got past that.)... and even then I don't feel inclined to play him much as an LF2 char. it just feels odd. lol.

But its nice to just test it out and see it in action. Whee!

Thanks, both of you! Yeah, I always thought that part was tough... Pretty appropriate for a secret boss. The thing that really bothered me was the obscure hoops you had to jump through to get to that point. Like not talking to prof. Booster? Who would naturally assume "Oh, I want that guy to live, so I won't go check how he's doing."
