First of all, I didn't say that I don't believe that you can't make it. It was just my intuition you have been doing like that(smudging). Now I know that you are not doing it. Fine. And I think that no one will have problem with this anymore.
Sorry I didnt see the previous page where such arguments arose.

The shading is way too harsh. It needs to be smooth. By smooth, I do not mean that you should use blur all over the face and make it look smooth. u need to use a little bit soft brush. Just like the shading you do with pencil. The shadow and highlights, mid-tones gets blended with each other. even in the original picture you could see that.

I am not knowledgeable to suggest what you actually have to practice at this stage. But constant practice and patience .
