I actually love this; Good luck with it, don't fail on it. It looks like one of the characters you would see in LF2. As the sprites are good as well.

it seems that a few frames are missing.
add one between #4 and #5 to make the animation smoother.

oh and btw: if you can continue this, it'll probably look like he's imitating a windmill, so NO.

there is no being late - actually noone ever really finished a char for that challenge

(also the eyes are above the ears - how does that work out - just lower them i guess)

something small ive noticed about the sprites btw
you seem to have copy pasted the hair most of the time - even when changing the heads direction (running for example)
doesnt look right - the ear would be somewhere else on those too - maybe try to sprite a new head/hair for this angle

Ill probably go back and make a brand new portrait after I'm all done and fix whatever animations and sprites that need some work. Definitely point them out though.

Anyways here are some of the specials that I'm working on.

There are 4 attacks so far, I'm still trying to think of one that works as the d^j for him. something simple not OP.

d > a is a column attack similar to freeze except that its faster and has a few more columns. No freezing attack though.

d v a is the stone mallet. It summons the mallet and whacks somebody. has a slow wind up but is strong and also give you a mallet at the end. Most of the time it misses but the mallet is like his only projectile.

d > j not entirely sure how to work this one but a stone attack comes out of the ground or something.

d v j is his earth shield. I still have to create the shield. He is invincible when doing it and it damages anyone caught in it.

I'm probably going to edit the column attack's look. That one is also giving me a headache to DC

Your Energy Palm attack (2nd Row, 3rd from the left)...
Should the hand position be a bit lower? (I was thinking of Monk's palm attack)
OOOHHHH Hammer combo... This guy should be a pro croquet player...
This char has potential... I'm sure this will be a good weapon-wielder char.
Hiding users' signatures and avatars was the best decision ever.

This char looks really promising!

Nice idea for the summoning of the rock-hammer and i also really like the greenish energy ..fits very well together with the whole design of the char.
I'm really looking forward to see this guy ingame. :)

I'm actually having some trouble figuring out how to make the rock columns shatter into a buncha rocks. Right now it only breaks into 1 pebble, its weird.

The palm attack is actually in the perfect spot. A stone hand comes up at that angle to hit people. looks pretty clean too.

Strangely he doesn't play like a melee character like woody or deep, hes mostly mid/short range. If people get out of his range either too close or too far he has some trouble. Thats not too say that he can't fight up close, he just has a big wind up for many of his attacks. They're not instant so anticipation is important. I find him too be fun, but then again everyone probably thinks their own character is fun.

Anyways I'm almost done creating everything for testing. Theres a lot I need to fix before it can be called final though.

basic idea is spawning a rock and destroying it as you do so (bdefend: 100)
preferably on a level that doesnt affect gameplay

Nice, really REALLY nice and awesome sprites!
I can't sprite like you.
Suggestions: Use Imageshack and the format of your screenies MUST NOT be jpg or jpeg...
Use png or bmp it's cleaner.
About the effects add white so it's a bit more LF2 styled.
