stage question
#41
well... that template should use state 15, and on the nback2 file you should use a dvz: 0 and not 550

LF2 is programmed that way that even if you input a certain x-value in stage.dat, it'll spawn kinda randomly. It just gives the rough position. The real x-value is the x-coordinate +/- 250. Means, if you spawn an object at x: 1300, it appears between x: 1150 and x: 1550. Use a >Zero Placer< to solve that problem ;)

well, i am probably wrong if blue phonix didn't said it but it worths a shot.
looking at the data you gave, i see mistakes:
1. template's HP shouldn't be 0, you need to use a higher value, because you need him alive.
2. like thenave said, change the state to 15 and change the dvz to 0 (i used state: 14 but W/E)
3. the dvx should be negetive, not positive. unless the character is with its face to the left.
and the opoint usually don't work with wait: 0, but if it works then it dosn't matter.
hope it'll work now

erm, sry but thats wrong. If you set a x: 200 the object appears somewhere from x: 200 to around x: 350 or so.

If the object would appear to the left side of the coordinate, too the zero placer wouldn't work secure anymore...

don't worry once I tryed out this stuff...

This is roughly how it should look like. Like Lauli mentioned, mess around with the centerx/y-values, this way you'll reposition the object left/right and up/down, respectively.

The reason for different positions in stage mode is the seeding. Items (or basically any object spawned in stage) never drop onto the same place, they just approximately hit the area you want them to fall.

ok.... but where is that going i try to do all as you say but... it just doesn work... it sais: can't create art surface

Usually, the "Can't Create Art Surface"-error happens under one or more of these conditions:
- the image location/name in the and the real path/name differ from each other
- the image must be in bmp, otherwise the exe will crash/throw errors
- the image is ridiculously large (can also happen with smaller images but it's more seldom). Restart of the exe/your OS helps usually
