imageready: avi -> gif (size, compression, transparency, timing)
Hmm.. since CS3 there hasn't been an imageready anymore... and most of its utility has been covered by either Photoshop or Premiere..
But I have no idea which one can do that avi -> gif thing, and how... time to fiddle with it I guess?
to my understanding imageready has been fully integrated into photoshop from cs2 to cs3
so if you try to open an avi with pscs3 it should give you that little open movie dialog asking you to specify the range you want to import (start/end similar to bashs method)
Tried that myself already. Photoshop screws up greatly when dealing with video --> gif. Apparently, they splitted some aspects of imageready into PS, and some into Fireworks. Don't have Fw installed on this computer, so I can't verify if it works with imports into that one, but PS refuses to eat those vids
Also, ^this applies if you have CS3. Might be that they fixed it in CS4 or later.

works on cs5 that way:
File -> Import -> Video Frames to Layer
then
Save for Web & Devices.
Otherwise it won't work on this one, probably works in cs4 the same way.
just to be precise. Oh and it looks actually good, so they did fix that up I guess.

it works! So, just a little preview. Frozen's D>A.
Mostly was just testing the video recording.. and the gif conversion.
So anyway. D>A, A
1 or 3 blasts of cold wind... freezes enemies.. 2nd and 3rd blasts are have arcing trajectories. Good for stopping small groups short if you can catch them by surprise.
Also, they have a limited range. About one screen's length.
So, comments and critiques welcome... although I should probably mention most of these are finalised moves. I'll probably only make minor tweaks to them. I've been doing some pretty thorough balance and fun testing on them already.
EDIT:
Also, the gif is a bit screwy coz I tried to keep the filesize down and put it through a bit too much compression.
Do tell me if you guys would prefer cleaner animations.. and don't mind the GIF's filesize blowing up to about a couple of Megabytes in size.

1) DO NOT PM ME
2) Go read up on anatomy and proportions online. (google is your best friend)
3) Go read up on pencil sketching-shading.
4) Practice by making FULL character sheets. (Refer to bases and references if you have to, occasionally try doing things from scratch. You have to mix both methods; bases and without.)
5) DO NOT be an arrogant, self-righteous prick when people try to give useful critiques, and ignore the ones who are flaming idiots. (Flaming them back makes you one of them.)
6) Repeat steps 2 to 5 until you're happy, or you think you're good, then start sharing your knowledge with your fellow spriters.
7) Showcase your sprites. At first, do not be discouraged when you don't get any critiques, or lousy/generic critiques. Continue practicing and showcasing your work. With more sprites, it will be clearer what your strengths and weaknesses are, and people may be better able to give you better critique.
Lastly, if you think saying all this makes me an arrogant, self-righteous prick who is too selfish to share his knowledge...
Then I say you cannot recognise wisdom when I've just slapped you in the face with it. (Also, those steps are the same steps I used to get to where I am, I don't know any way else to truly learn.)
Unless you think its worth my time, go F*** yourselves. I'm not going to bother to even reply to PMs like "can you help me make this character?" anymore.

why would you like him to increase the gif quality?? its just a preview that shows you the d>a of frozen..
@sieg: awesome work man, no complaints from me.. as usually i opened it in image ready and took a closer look.. frames have smooth transition and ball looks stunning.. its just gif quality that makes it like that but am sure the bmp u got are hell of a clean work. +1 .gif) am so waiting for this character.

Looks nice but what's the idea? Does he get more mana when he goes into ice or smthing? Or is it just that you get behind the enemy?
