hi everyone, its quite some time since i have been doing lf2-related stuff. now that im back, i wanted to finish this character as i promised betit.
the basic frames are done. to be honest, i dont really like his "imma gonna squat & kick u in the nuts" super punch, and his weapon attack range looks pathetic >_>
i have made some changes to the sprites to create the jump and dash attacks which are missing.
but the main problem is: the two balls attack. Magnum can spawn two kind of ball, red and blue.

so betit wants the ball to remain still, until BOTH blue and red balls are present in the field, then they are attracted to each other and creates an electric explosion. i personally think thats impossible in dc. so are they any ideas/suggestions for changes in the balls attack?

*btw, i have thought of a way to somehow allow only friendly(ally) blue and red balls to explode, while unfriendly(enemy) balls will delete each other, havent tested it though.

I suggest something like a remote control bomb.

Red ball acts similarly to Henry's D>J or John's D>J but moves very slowly.
Blue ball acts like John's D>A ball and moves quickly.

Red is like an inactive bomb, blue is like the remote detonator. Shoot blue at red, and boom. I'd say that's a pretty good compromise to having them being attracted to each other.

I wonder if you can use a weapon type in data.txt for blue, and let red have a whirlwind kind itr to pull it in to get the explosion.

so Magnum is almost done, but i have a little bit of problem with the balls move.

if an object is holding another object via wpoint, the held object will be 1 point lower on the z-axis(i guess). thus causing the blue and red ball to be buggy at times. (the red ball is stationary, the blue is a chase ball)

still cant think of a good way to make the same effect without the problem. i want to make it so that only friendly red and blue balls can create the explosion. or should i change it so that the explosion will always happen when a blue and a red ball interact?

@v: will remove the catching frame problems, since i havent done checking all the frames yet. i stopped when i met the ball problem.

Me neither. I should also note that anything that spawns is also 1 pixel below on z-axis, same with weapons being carried. It is still possible to trigger the explosion with blue coming from the top when both are non-friendly. Maybe its better to just let it always happen - besides, it is impossible to tell the difference between a friendly and a non-friendly ball by sprite.

Didn't remove D^A/DvA in catching frames - uses D^J and D>J(without moving) respectively.

I have another Idea, idk, if it will work or not but, what about making them chars, with only the AI of running into each other and fusing into a explosion, which deletes them of course. (Summoning two of the balls at the same time with different angle one on left and one on right, they run into each other with a very high bdy so they don't get hit, and then straight up fusing into a explosion)

I would have worked on him if it weren't for that move alone. It's very interesting yet it's rather complicated for LF2's engine. I'm with STM to say you should make it happen regardless of team. Would make for fun mirror matches when you ruin someone's explosion.
